Congratulations to "HilmKAD", Winner of Event #5 $20K GTD 40 Stack 8-Max for $4,800
The BetMGM Online Series Poker Michigan has now crowned another champion when Event #5: $20k GTD 40 Stack 8-Max completed after just four hours of play. A total of 93 runners showed up for the highly-anticipated 40 Stack and when the last chance saloon had closed for business it was "HilmKAD" left sitting in the winner's circle, taking home $4,800 for their victory.
In classic 40 Stack fashion, the fifth event of the series wrapped up in just four hours and an insane amount of action saw plenty of chip swings throughout. Once the final table hit it seemed that "HilmKAD" figured out the secret formula to continuously stack chips with ease. They dropped five players on the final table en route to their victory and ran about as pure as one player could, winning every race without a sweat.
The final elimination of the event was "ivegotstylekid" and it came in the same fashion as every other "HilmKAD" hand that was won. "HilmKAD" four-bet ripped with pocket nines and "ivegotstylekid" snapped their stack off with big slick. A clean board fell once more for "HilmKAD" and "ivegotstylekid" had to settle for runner-up, taking home $3,360.

Action of the Day
The only 40 Stack of the series had 40 players to start the day but the late registration period failed to pull in enough to hit the advertised guarantee as a total of 92 runners jumped into the event. Only 33 were left when the late registration period ended it was announced that the top 16 were to find a payday with the eventual winner taking down $4,800 for their victory.
An onslaught of elimination led to a quick hand-for-hand that ended with Patrick "MSPT-HOF" Steele taking an exit as the inevitable bubble boy. Steele shoved his pocket fives and "marioparty" called in the big blind, putting in the little needed with six-three. the board came down with two sevens and two aces, counterfeiting Steele and the six of "marioparty" played, dubbing Steele as the bubble boy.
It was just 15-minute later when the official final table was set and "ivegotstylekid" was sitting on the top of the field, just barely ahead of "HilmKAD". The first to drop from the last table of the event was "NBTRjr" when they shoved rockets and "rickystackerz77" called with tens. A dime on the turn hit a set for "rickystackerz77" who cracked aces to eliminated "NBTRjr". "HilmKAD" then started their heater, calling the shove of "TrappinDonkeys" with a pair of sixes to flip versus ace-jack. The board came down clean and "HilmKAD" knocked out "TrappinDonkeys".
"HilmKAD" opened just a few hands later with sixes again and "Pollan" shoved with ace-jack. "HilmKAD" snapped with their pair of sixes and the same outcome came to foot. A clean board dropped "Pollan" from the field, sending another pot to "HilmKAD". "JohnCandy" was the next to take a shot at the champ, shoving the button with jack-eight, only to get snapped by the red-hot "HilmKAD" who held ace-jack. An ace-high board cemented it for "HilmKAD" and "JohnCandy" hit the rail.
Another player decided to take some action when "ivegotstylekid" opened with the hottest hand of the tournament, having sixes. "smftt" jammed ace-trey, and "ivegotstylekid" called. For the third time, a clean board landed and sixes sent a runner out the door, eliminating "smftt" from the event. A wet board had "rickystackerz77" shoved with a straight draw and "HilmKAD" called, holding almost an identical draw. A rivered ace took down the pot for "HilmKAD" who sent yet another player to the rail.
The heads-up portion of this event was short and sweet. "ivegotstylekid" three-bet with big slick and "HilmKAD" jammed with a pair of nines. A quick call saw a classic race to end the tournament. The board brought little excitement and a pair of nines held on for the win, eliminating "ivegotstylekid" as the runner-up for a respectable $3,360.
