Day 1 Completed
The partypoker US Network Progressive Knockout (PKO) Bounty Online Series just had its first champion crowned. Event #1: LearnWPT $40K GTD PKO 6-Max had a total of 307 entries jump in for the first event of the series and when the dust had settled it was "Core4" reigning supreme, pulling in a total of $12,769 for their win.

Action of the Day
The first event of the series had a great turnout to start the day, with lots of notable players jumping in to take a shot at the opener title, and by the time late registration had closed, there were 307 entries. This number created a $61,400 prize pool which blasted the $40,000 guarantee out of the water.
Shortly after late registration had come to an end it was already nearly time for the bubble to pop. A stalemate occurred as the final 37 played for quite some time before a player took an exit. Once players were guaranteed money it was like the carpet was lifted from under everyone's feet, shifting all the tight bubble play into aggressive exciting chip movement.
It took just two hours for the top 36 to mold down to just six, with "Core4" leading the way. Just a couple of hands into the final table it was "Dragonea" and Jaime "mooseman1710" Reyes sending their bounties to the champ. Both shoved preflop with shorter stacks, "Core4" called with king-three and nailed a cowboy on the turn to take out two. "Dragonea" finished in sixth and Reyes took home fifth-place money.
A few rounds after it was Michael UFOLDIWIN St. John who called down on every street with top pair, only to be out-kicked by "Core4" who scooped, leaving St. John on the rail. One of the mid-day favorites was Keith "ClarkWesterfeld" Donovan who built up an impressive stack and almost managed to take the lead during three-handed play with pocket nines, but lady luck was on the side of "Core4" who spiked an ace to eliminate yet another opponent.
The last to get executed by the steamrolling champion was "martillo78" who put up a heads-up fight for almost an hour before hitting the felt. "Core4" opened with ace-queen of hearts and "martillo78" elected to shove their king-three off. "Core4" called and the rest is history as "martillo78" finished as the runner-up, earning a respectable $5,600 plus the $1,269 they accumulated in bounties.
The series is open to everybody in the state of New Jersey across the three platforms of partypoker US, Borgata Poker and BetMGM Poker.
That wraps it up for the PokerNews live coverage of Event #1: LearnWPT $40K GTD PKO 6-Max but tune in tomorrow for all of the updates on Event #2: $15K GTD PKO 8-Max Bounty.
