Day 1 Completed

"PipthqueakAA" Wins WPT Online Borgata Series Event #6: $20K GTD Six-Max NLH for $13,328

The WPT Online Borgata Series Event #6: $20K GTD Six-Max NLH came to an end early Saturday morning with "PipthqueakAA" running their way to the finish line defeating "treetrap heads-up for the first-place prize of $13,328.

The sixth event saw 77 players start the tournament with that number steadily increasing throughout the registration period as "PipthqueakAA" outlasted a field of 280 entries at $215 apiece.

The 280 total entries generated a total prize pool of $56,000 that would be paid out to the top 30 players.

Once registration ended, only 74 players remained and that number quickly dwindled as "brogna2phi" bubbled the tournament at the start of Level 22, leaving the remaining players in the money.

From there, players started dropping by the wayside as Derek "pompii" Sudell (26th place - $616), Alex JinYang Butcher (25th Place - $616), Yong "IReadYrSoul" Kwon (24th Place - $672), James "Bagels" Lillis (23rd Place - $672), Dan mj23style Sewing (18th Place - $756), Ryan simlSgg Hagerty (17th Place - $756), Michael "miw210x" Wang (13th Place - $756), John "Slapshot1085" Forlenza (12th Place - $952) and Josh layitdown08 Rothberg (7th Place - $1,848) all got a piece of the pie but fell short of the making final table.

Final Table Action

The end of Level 32 saw "dhimp20" bow out first in sixth place after their pocked fives were rivered by "Aiden13's ace-queen.

A full three levels passed before "BambooLounge" took their exit in fifth place after their pocket tens came up short against PipthqueakAA's king-seven off suit.

A few levels later, the next elimination happened after "proletariat" lost holding ace-queen off suit to "PipthqueakAA's" king-ten off suit.

"Aiden13" was the next to drop after failing to connect with the runout holding live cards against "PipthqueakAA".

The heads-up battle saw "PipthqueakAA" hold a 2:1 chip advantage and he made quick work of "treetrap" within a few short levels.

PokerNews coverage will continue for the series on Saturday, September 19 with updates coming for Event #8: $30K GTD Progressive Knockout Bounty ($215).

"treetrap" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($7,812)

In Level 39 with blinds at 80,000/160,000 (20,000 ante), "PipthqueakAA" raised all in and "treetrap" called off their 2,046,126 stack from the big blind.

"treetrap": {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
"PipthqueakAA": {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}

"treetrap" held the better hand but it was "PipthqueakAA" who connected with the {4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop.

The {8-Diamonds} turn was no help to "treetrap" as they needed to spike an ace on the river to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Unfortunately for "treetrap", the {4-Diamonds} wasn't the card they wanted to see and their tournament ended in second place.

In Level 37 with blinds at 60,000/120,000 (15,000 ante), "PipthqueakAA" raised on the button and then called "proletariat's" 1,399,838 three-bet jam from the big blind.

"proletariat": {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
"PipthqueakAA": {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}

"proletariat" was ahead until the {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop appeared giving "PipthqueakAA" trip tens.

The {7-Diamonds} turn was no help to "proletariat" nor was the {j-Spades} and their tournament ended in fourth place.

"BambooLounge" Eliminated in 5th Place ($3,052)

In Level 35 with blinds at 45,000/90,000 (11,250 ante), "PipthqueakAA" raised from the cutoff and then called "BambooLounge's" 479,453 three-bet jam from the big blind.

"PipthqueakAA": {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
"BambooLounge": {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

"BambooLounge" was ahead with their pocket tens until the {4-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Spades} flop appeared pairing "PipthqueakAA's" king.

The {k-Hearts} turn improved "PipthqueakAA's" hand to trips and "BambooLounge" needed any ten or non-spade seven to stay alive.

Unfortunately for "BambooLounge", the {5-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and ended their tournament in fifth place.
