Reinkemeier's Monster Finish
The chip bags were already out on one table, and we were busy scratching down table draws and counts when a big pot broke out across the way.
Shawn Buchanan opened the pot to 15,000 from the hijack seat, and Tobias Reinkemeier three-bet to 35,000 next door. The two men have been playing a lot of pots together today, and Buchanan four-bet to 80,000 total. Reinkemeier's response was an all-in shove for about 400,000 total, and Buchanan snap-called. Reinkemeier knew his pocket jacks were in trouble, and indeed, Buchanan tabled two aces, five cards from a million chips.
The dealer had other ideas, however, and Reinkemeier managed to river a straight to give his jacks the big pot. Buchanan's aces are cracked to drop him down around 200,000, while Reinkemeier has stolen the chip lead on the final hand of the night. He's got 896,000 now.
