Queens No Good for Stein

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Chris Oliver raised to 255,000 with the {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Sam Stein once again opted to flat in position with a big hand holding the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The flop came down {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The turn brought the {A-Clubs} and Oliver fired a very small bet of 130,000. Stein made the call.

The river completed the board with the {7-Clubs}. Both players checked.

Oliver turned over his hand and Stein angrily mucked.

Ionel Bluffs, Hall Picks if Off

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Galen Hall opened to 255,000 with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} from under the gun and the action folded all the way to Anton Ionel who called with {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} from the big blind.

The flop fell {5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Ionel checked to Hall who continued for 220,000. Ionel check-raised to 460,000 and Hall called.

The dealer burned and turned the {a-Spades} and Ionel quickly checked. Hall checked behind.

The river was the {q-Diamonds} and Ionel bluffed again, firing 545,000.

“You didn’t bluff once yesterday,” Hall said to him.

After mulling it over Hall eventually called, and when the hands were tabled he was shipped the pot pushing him over 7 million chips.

Steinberg Turns Two Pair and Shoves

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

From the cutoff seat, Max Weinberg raised to 240,000 with the {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Sam Stein defended from the big blind with the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Weinberg flopped the best hand with a pair of sevens. Stein checked his king high to him and Weinberg fired 315,000 with his middle pair. Stein studied for a while and then attempted a bluff raise to 785,000. Weinberg flatted in position.

With the pot at 2.215 million, Stein checked the {10-Clubs} that fell on the turn. Weinberg picked up two pair, but it looked like Stein was shutting this one down. Weinberg had about a pot-sized bet left in his stack and moved all in. Stein quickly mucked and Weinberg won the pot. He's got about four million now.

From Chris Oliver raised to 255,000 with the {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Sam Stein flat-called in the cutoff seat with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and the flop came down {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Oliver fired 315,000 and Stein flatted behind.

The turn brought the {6-Hearts} and completed a possible flush draw. Oliver held the only heart and checked. Stein checked behind.

Stein Continues to Close the Gap

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Chris Oliver raised to 220,000 with the {Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Sam Stein was on the button with the {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and made the call. Galen Hall called out of the big blind with the {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. As you can see, all the fives in the deck were gone and Stein had both players dominated.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} to keep Stein's fives in the lead. Hall checked and Oliver fired 340,000. Only Stein made the call as Hall ducked out of the way, not opting to peel to his gutshot.

The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and Oliver slowed down with a check, not having anything on that board. Stein seized the opportunity and bet out 535,000. Oliver folded and Stein picked up the pot to move to nearly 10 million in chips. He continues to close the gap on Oliver.
