Phil D'Auteuil Eliminated in 11th Place ($85,000)

Phil D'Auteuil - 11th place
Phil D'Auteuil - 11th place

Under the gun, Phil D'Auteuil raised big to 450,000, essentially committing himself to the pot with most of his chips already in. From the cutoff, Anthony Gregg reraised all in to isolate, but his shove would not get through. In the small blind, Faraz Jaka woke up with a monster, and he called all in for 2.375 million. D'Auteuil dropped his last few chips in the pot too, and Gregg was looking for a huge double knockout as the cards were turned up.

Showdown
D'Auteuil: {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs}
Gregg: {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}
Jaka: {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs}

Gregg managed to pair up on the {3-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {10-Spades} flop, but that's as close as he'd get. The turn {8-Hearts} and river {J-Spades} kept Jaka's aces in front, and it's he who sends D'Auteuil off in 11th place. It was a fine run for the French Canadian who's better known as "takechip" from his online domination, but his bid for a major live title has come up just that short.

Jaka has rebounded fully from his midday slide, and he's back into the mix of the leaders with 5.55 million. That's second place right now.
