Troyanovskiy Leads Entering Day 2
Day 2 of the $25,000 High Roller is set to begin in 60 minutes or so, and your chip leader entering the day is Vladimir Troyanovskiy. Troyanovskiy, who made the final table of the $100,000 Super High Roller, won a massive, 280,000-chip pot on Day 1, when his bested an opponent's on a flop with two clubs. The turn was a brick, but the river was a club, and the Russian vaulted into the chip lead.
Other players who bagged large stacks include Mike Watson (282,500), Ariel Celestino (276,800), Shawn Buchanan (240,000), and Joey Weissman (237,200).
Day 1 attracted nearly 200 entries, and with Phil Hellmuth and Bill Perkins rumored to be playing today, we will cross that threshold. The plan is to play until we reach an official final table, but the ball room closes at 4 a.m. With 80+ players returning, it certainly will be a race to see what will come first.
