And Then, There Were Seven

There will be a little extra leg room at the final table today.

Day 2 of the 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $100,000 Super High Roller ended in a double knockout, with Fabian Quoss eliminating both Paul Newey and Mike McDonald on the bubble of the official final table. McDonald started the hand with more chips, so Newey bubbled the money while McDonald pocketed $217,320.

Leading the unorthodox seven-handed final table is Dan Shak (3.7 million), who doubled through Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst (3.645 million) during the final level of play on Day 2. Shak only has a one-big blind edge over Selbst, and combined the two players have more than half of the chips in play.

Antonio Esfandiari (2.83 million) and Fabian Quoss (2.65 million) are the only other players in seven figures, as Matt Glantz (480,000), Tony Gregg (410,000), and Ole Schemion (280,000) all have eight big blinds or fewer.

The cards will be in the air at 1 p.m. local time, but our coverage will run concurrently with the EPT Live stream, which begins at 2 p.m. EST. Be sure to check back to PokerNews for coverage of this final table and the start of the 2014 PCA Main Event.
