Toby Lewis Leads Almost 600 Players Into Day 2
Welcome back for Day 2 of the 2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $5,300 Main Event. After two opening flights, nearly 600 players will return for play today, and it is Toby Lewis atop them all with 188,000 in chips. With registration open until the start of Day 2, official field size and prize pool numbers will be posted shortly after play begins, but it looks like over 900 total entries and nearly $4.5 million in the purse for this one.
Coming in behind Lewis on the leaderboard and rounding out the top five stacks are Alexandr Komarov (168,200), Jonathan Jaffe (164,000), Randy Kritzer (161,500), and Boyuan Qu (149,800).
Other notables returning for Day 2 are Kathy Lehne, who is ranked as one of the richest women in the world, according to Forbes, Andrey Zaichenko, who took out international football legend Ronaldo on Day 1a, and Team PokerStars Pro members Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu, and Jason Mercier. Of this group, Lehne has the most chips to start Day 2 with 130,100.
After eight 60-minute levels were played on Day 1a and 1b, the players will be happy to get an additional 30 minutes per level on Day 2. The plan for the day is to play five 90-minute levels, with no dinner break and the end of the day coming at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time. There will be a 15-minute break after every level.
As is for everyday in this event except for the last one, the cards will be in the air at 12 p.m. local time. Be sure to keep your eyes fixated right here to PokerNews.com for continued coverage of the 2016 PCA Main Event as the field moves further along in the quest.
