Day 3 of the 2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $5,300 Main Event came to a close Monday night after another five levels of play took place. Coming into the day, Brazil's Leonardo Pires led the pack, and he kept his position moving forward to Day 4. He bagged up 2.095 million in chips.

The field returned with 195 competitors left from a 928-player field. The top 135 paid out, and it was Knut Karnapp from Germany who finished as the "bubble boy."

Karnapp was all in with the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} against {A-}{K-} for Christopher McNamara. The flop, turn, and river ran out {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}, and Karnapp was eliminated.

Also busting out before the money were Olivier Busquet, Jeremy Ausmus, Mukul Pahuja, Ian O'Hara, Andrey Zaichenko, and Samuel Phillips.

Once in the money, the line at the payout desk began to build. Among those to finish with a cash were JC Alvarado (91st), Kevin MacPhee (99th), Allen Kessler (107th), Jeff Rossiter (11th), Sam Greenwood (116th), Chris Oliver (125th), and James Calderaro (133rd).

Another player to finish in the money but fail to make it out of the day was Steve O'Dwyer, winner of everything under the sun lately, including the $50,000 Single-Day High Roller here at PCA. O'Dwyer fell in Level 18 with the blinds at 3,000/6,000/1,000 when he ended up all in with the {A-Spades}{4-Hearts} against the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for Ilkin Amirov. The board came {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, and O'Dwyer was gone in 89th place.

Others that advanced to Day 4 and will join Pires are Phillip McAllister, Ami Barer, Jason Koon, Jason Mercier, Martin McCormick, Fedor Holz, Matt Waxman, and Tony Gregg.

Day 4 will see the players return at 12 p.m. local time, and the plan will be to play down to 16 players or as announced by the tournament staff at the beginning of the day. Stay tuned to PokerNews.com for continued coverage, and we'll see you then.
