Titov Leads on Day 3 of PCA Main Event as Konnikova Looks for Second Title of Series

Maria Konnikova and Liv Boeree are both returning for Day 3
Maria Konnikova and Liv Boeree are both returning for Day 3

We're just hours away from the kickoff of Day 3 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event and it's sure to be an exciting one as players will kick off just 14 places away from the money.

Leading the way is Russia's Oleg Titov who is looking to improve on his largest recorded cash ever from two years ago at the EPT in Barcelona where he scored $51,111. The schedule is set for players to play four 90-minute levels today from level 14 through 17 so there is plenty of action to look forward too.

Among some of the other's returning are Adrian Mateos (358,000), David Peters (327,000), Maria Lampropulos (299,500), Koray Aldemir (256,000), Chris Hunichen (166,000), Liv Boeree (96,000), Harrison Gimbel(99,000), Joao Simao (90,500), Ivan Luca (77,000), Barry Greenstein (69,000) and Kevin MacPhee (38,500) to name a few. Also still in action is PokerStars friend Maria Konnikova. Konnikova has already made a splash this series by winning the $1,650 PokerStars National Championship event where she locked up $84,600 and a Platinum Pass worth $30,000.

Speaking of Platinum Passes, on Wednesday, Thai Ha locked up another of the passes to be given away here at the series. All Main Event Day 2 participants had the chance today to win their own $30,000 Platinum Pass, which includes a $25,000 buy-in to the inaugural 2019 PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold'em Championship, along with accommodation and expenses. Ha won a blind hand at his table by rivering trip eights to lock up the $30,000 pass. Another of these passes will be given away today with a chance for each player who made it to Day 3 to win one of their own. Unfortunately for Ha, he did not survive through Day 2, but he was lucky enough to not walk away empty handed.

Along with the Platinum Pass being given away, there are plenty more prizes to be won here in the Main Event. The money bubble is likely to break within the first few levels of play with the final 87 players receiving at least $17,500. But the players have their eyes on much more than just a cash as all of them are looking to take down the $1,081,100 first place prize.

The action is set to kick off at 12 p.m. local time at level 14 with blinds of 1,500/3,000 and an ante of 500. PokerNews will be here throughout the day with coverage from top to bottom so make sure to stay tuned so you don't miss a thing.
