Trofimov Takes From Manole

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Justin Ouimette raised to 40,000 from the cutoff and was called by Dragos Trofimov on the button and Mihai Manole in the big blind.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, Manole checked, Ouimette continued with a bet of 55,000 and both Trofimov and Manole called.

The turn brought them the {5-Clubs}, Manole bet 90,000 and only Trofimov called.

They both checked through the {k-Hearts} on the river. Manole tabled {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the pair of fives but Trofimov held {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for the turned set of fives to pick up the pot.

Silva Araujo Eliminated

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Still left with two big blinds after the earlier hand against Boika, Marcos Silva Araujo called all in after a raise from Markus Kuhnen and Maurice Costigan came along as well from the big blind. The {5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop went check/check, Costigan bet 45,000 on the {5-Spades} turn and Kuhnen called, before the {6-Diamonds} river went check/check as well.

Costigan showed {9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for nines and fives, Kuhnen mucked {10-Spades}{6-Spades} and Silva Araujo mucked {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} to bust in 20th.

Silva Araujo Needs to Fold

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Aliaksei Boika raised to 40,000 from the hijack and Marcos Silva Araujo tossed in a chip from the big blind and exposed his hole cards, thinking he was all-in or that Boika's raise had him covered. The floor was called over and the situation was explained to him while Silva Araujo had {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} open in front of him. The floor ruled that it was just a call and Silva Araujo had 50,000 left.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and the whole table laughed. Silva Araujo checked and Boika bet 20,000 which sent Silva Araujo spinning into the tank. The whole table laughed again, including Boika. Silva Araujo went through all the possible options in his head, some of the other players offered to look things up with solvers etc. After about four minutes, the floor decided to call the clock on Silva Araujo. When the timer was down to about ten seconds, he opted to fold.

Boika pushed his cards over the line but when requested by the rest to show, Boika kindly volunteered and showed {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the flopped pair of nines.

Beresford Can't Shake Off Reichenstein

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Uri Reichenstein (at an earlier event)
Uri Reichenstein (at an earlier event)

In a blind on blind confrontation, Uri Reichenstein checked the {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} flop to Conor Beresford, who bet 40,000. Reichenstein came along with the call.

The turn was the {K-Clubs} and this time, Reichenstein check-called a bet of 110,000.

The river completed the board with the {4-Hearts}. Reichenstein checked a third time, and Beresford shoved all in after thinking for twenty seconds. Reichenstein needed about ten seconds to call it off for 255,000 and his tournament life.

Conor Beresford: {Q-Spades}{4-Spades}
Uri Reichenstein: {J-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

"Nice call," Chino Rheem complimented Reichenstein, who's strong call with second pair got rewarded.

Rheem Sinks Saout

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Antoine Saout was down to 114,000 in chips and shoved those in late position. It got folded to Chino Rheem in the big blind.

"114?" he asked? "Call," he said after quickly looking at his cards.

Antoine Saout: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Chino Rheem: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop brought extra outs for Saout to go with his overcards, but neither the {9-Spades} turn nor {3-Clubs} helped him get there.

Rex Alarcon shoved all in for 61,000 from the hijack and Timo Kamphues three-bet to 105,000 on the button. Diego Palma Valencia contemplated for a while from the big blind and then decided to also shove. Kamphues quickly folded.

Rex Alarcon: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Diego Palma Valencia: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for Alarcon to hit the pair of aces on the flop to stay alive.

Bayley Eliminated by Trofimov

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Lawrence Bayley's attempt to win the PCA National fell up short when he ran his {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} into the {A-Spades}{J-Spades} of Dragos Trofimov. The {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{K-Spades} board left the Brit without chips and he went off to collect $4,960 for finishing 23rd.

At another table, Conor Beresford made a big double up at the expense of Joe Cote with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} against {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Shortly after the double-up, the short-stacked David Bokor busted out to leave the field with 21 players.

Salter Can't Get There

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jack Salter (at the PSPC)
Jack Salter (at the PSPC)

Jack Salter open-shoved a little over 320,000 from the cutoff and Aliaksei Boika called on the button.

Jack Salter: {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Aliaksei Boika: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Salter found little help on the {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and begged the dealer for a three. He got a {5-Clubs} instead, which definitely made the three the card he'd want to catch, but the {5-Diamonds} river wasn't it to end his bid in 24th.
