Rudolph Shoves the River

Level 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Action was heads up with 150,000 in the middle and {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} on the board when Brunno Botteon was contemplating a 190,000 bet from Christian Rudolph. Botteon raised to 330,000 and Rudolph called to see {2-Hearts} on the turn.

Rudolph fired 140,000 at the turn and Botteon called.

The river was {4-Spades} and Botteon shoved his last 365,000. Botteon went into the tank for several minutes, but he eventually gave up the pot.

Rudolph had a small supporting rail and it may have encouraged him to show {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for just a pair of fours.

"The fours were probably good," Jonathan Little said with a laugh. "Sick value."

Action was heads up with around 250,000 in the pot and {2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades} on the board when Jonathan Little check-called what looked like a 135,000 bet from Maria Konnikova. The turn was {a-Diamonds}.

Little checked once more on the turn and then called when Konnikova fired another 200,000. The river was {4-Clubs}.

Both players checked the river and Little turned over {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} to take the pot with aces and fives. Konnikova tossed the losing hand in the muck.

Delgado Scores Massive Double Up

Level 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Vicente Delgado
Vicente Delgado

The action was picked up in a pot of nearly 500,000 on a board showing {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Vicente Delgado checked from the big blind over to Maria Konnikova in early position who bet out 325,000. Delgado took a moment before moving all in for 825,000 total and Konnikova quickly called.

Vicente Delgado: {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Maria Konnikova: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Konnikova flopped the world with a flush draw and straight draw but was slightly behind the two pair of Delgado. The river came the {7-Spades} and the full house for Delgado scored the massive pot to rocket his stack up the leaderboard.

PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.
