There was no shortage of action or players for Day 1 of the $3,000 PCA Mystery Bounty at the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in The Bahamas. Many notables tested their luck trying to spin up a stack and the field is currently sitting at 626 total entries with just 229 players advancing to Day 2.

The largest stack to end Day 1 belongs to David Stamm who has positioned himself well to earn some bounties when Day 2 kicks off. Stamm began the day strong and was consistently being complimented by his tablemates about how well he was playing. He finished even stronger as he put a whopping 340,500 chips in the big, more than 11 starting stacks. Stamm has accumulated over $1,000,000 in live tournament earnings and will be looking to add to that number over the coming days.

Joining him near the top of the leaderboard is Mauricio Sanchez with 306,00 chips, the only other player to bag over 300,000 chips. Santiago Plante also had an exciting day, finishing among the leaders with 276,500 chips. Plante was slowly increasing his stack throughout the day but struck lightning when he won one of the largest pots of the day. Plante flopped the nut flush in a three-bet pot and went on to get three streets of value in one of the last levels of the day.

While the field was littered with familiar faces right from the onslaught, many were forced to hit up the registration desk on multiple occasions. Shaun Deeb was seen using at least three entries over the course of the day but managed to find a healthy bag of 187,500 chips. Other notables advancing to Day 2 include Joris Ruijs (229,000), Dario Sammartino (175,000), PokerStars ambassador Lex Veldhuis (116,500), Erik Seidel (112,000), and Martin Jacobson (80,500).

Late registration still remains open until 12:30 p.m. EST tomorrow and the cards will go back in the air at 1 p.m. EST. That will allow the tournament staff enough time to gather the bounty information that will commence at the start of Day 2. There is guaranteed to be at least one $30,000 Platinum Pass package along with at least one $100,000 bounty prize.

The blinds will resume on level 13 at 1,000/1,500 and a 1,500 big blind ante with the levels continuing at 40 minutes in length. There will be a 15-minute break after every three levels and a 75-minute dinner break after level 21. The current plan is to play a total of 15 levels on Day 2 and the winner will be crowned on Day 3.

Keep it locked here as the PokerNews live reporting team will be back on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates throughout the day.
