Welcome Back to Day 2 of the $3,000 PCA Mystery Bounty

Cards, Chips, Branding
Cards, Chips, Branding

After an action-packed opening day that saw plenty of chips exchanging hands, there will be at least 229 players returning to their seats for Day 2 of the $3,000 PCA Mystery Bounty. Many players are starting to make their way to the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in The Bahamas for what is shaping up to be one of the busiest weekends.

After 12 levels were completed on Day 1, David Stamm emerged as the overall chip leader, bagging up a whopping 340,500 chips. Stamm will be the only player that is guaranteed to have a shot at a bounty prize no matter what on the opening hand of Day 2 when the cards go in the air at 1 p.m. EST. He will be closely followed by Mauricio Sanchez (306,000) and Petar Kalev (304,000) to round out the top three chip counts.

Some other notables with big stacks who have positioned themselves well to claim some bounties include Santiago Plante (276,000), Rayan Chamas (188,500), Shaun Deeb (187,500), and Dario Sammartino (174,500). They can smell blood in the water when the short stacks decide to put themselves at risk, all hoping to claim the top bounty prize.

What the prize is, is only a guess right now since late registration will remain open until 12:30 p.m. EST today. Once registration is closed, the tournament staff will begin to calculate the bounty prizes before the cards go in the air. There is likely to be at least one $100,000 prize in the mix along with a $30,000 Platinum Pass package up for grabs.

A new starting stack for those late entries will be worth 30,000 chips and the blinds will resume at 1,000/1,500 and a 1,500 big blind ante. The levels will continue to be 40 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every three levels and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 21. The schedule for Day 2 is to play 15 levels and then return to crown a winner on Day 3.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the live updates as the tournament unfolds and the exciting reveal of the mystery bounties are drawn.
