The Race to the Money and Beyond on Day 2 of the 2022 Poker Dream Vietnam Main Event
History has been made during the 2022 Poker Dream Vietnam VND 25,000,000 (~ $1,019) Main Event at the luxury five-star Hoiana Resort & Golf near Hoi An. A total of 822 entries in the second edition of the new Asian live poker series created a prize pool of VND 17,940,150,000 (~ $722,083), which made it the biggest prize pool in a NLHE Main Event in the history of Vietnam.
Across the three starting days, 192 players advanced to Day 2 and will be vying to earn a share of the prize money while firmly setting their eyes on the final day tomorrow, which concludes the series in Vietnam. The two chip leaders Hojin Kim (310,500) and Hung Thanh Phan (310,000) are separated by a single chip only while several other notables can be found with big stacks.
That also includes Aussie Vincent Huang, who topped the turbo heat 1c with 285,000 in chips as he jumped to fourth place on the overall leaderboard.

Malaysia's Shyh Chyn Lim (242,000), Dhaval Mudgal (231,500), Winfred Yu (228,000), Zhi Yi Ning (219,000), Abhinav Iyer (193,500), Jack Wu (190,000), Kunal Patni (184,000), and Chin Wei Lim (181,000) all sit in prime spots to make a deep run.
That also applies for David Erquiaga from the Philippines, who has been on a hot run throughout the last few months. He won the WPT Prime Cambodia Main Event and prior to that finished second in the inaugural Poker Dream Malaysia Main Event back in July at the Resorts World Genting in Kuala Lumpur. Erquiaga will aim to finish one spot higher and returns with 158,000 in chips.
As of today, the level duration increases to 50 minutes each and 12 levels are likely scheduled for today. The money bubble will burst on Day 2 and the tournament may even reach the nine-handed final table, albeit that may be an ambitious target for the flagship event of the stop in Hoi An.
Level 13 recommences with blinds of 1,500-3,000 and a big blind ante of 3,000. The current average is 128,438, which was retained across all of the three flights.
