Li Pushes Off Hammond, Fasano Folds Out Zhou
The action is chugging along, though there have been no massive pots as of late. A couple of hands went down and though neither pot was particularly sizable, every little helps in tournament poker and winning the small ones with minimal risk pads out a player's stack just fine.
The two beneficiaries of this small ball trend are Yang Li and William Fasano. It was Li we caught in action first, though it was the UK's Mark Hammond who was the initial aggressor, making it 2,000 to go from the hijack. Both Li (small blind) and Duan Chao (big blind) made the call to take the action three-way to a flop of .
This saw Li lead for 2,500 and after a quick fold from Chao, Hammond made the call to bring the action heads-up to the turn. There would be no river, with Li's turn bet of 6,000 enough to get the Brit to give it up and drop to 35,600, while Li climbed to 55,000.
Another Brit who things appear to be working out much better for is William Fasano, and while he is on his second bullet, Fasano has run his stack up to close to 100,000 after pushing China's Quan Zhou off a hand.
With two high roller titles and a slew of high profile cashes on his poker resume, Zhou is no pushover, but did not appear to have much in this particular hand, leaving Fasano to reap the benefits.
We picked up the action on the flop with close to 6,000 in the pot with the community cards spread a monochrome . Both players checked and Fasano took a stab for close to half pot on the turn, which was enough to take down the pot.
