Things are just warming up here as the Poker King Cup Macau 2018 tournament series enters its second day. There are still four more action-packed events left to play out at the poker tables of the Poker King Club at Venetian Macau Resort & Hotel over the five remaining days of the series, with Day 1a of the HKD 16,500 Main Event kicking off at 1pm local time (GMT+7).

The previous Poker King Cup Macau, which ran in May 2017, saw Chinas Longyun Li defeat a 490-strong field to earn himself an HKD 1,101,000 ($141,282) payday, with a total of 63 players cashing for a share of the HKD 7,129,500 ($915,918) prize pool. A sizable field is also expected this time around.

Players kick off the action with a 30,000 stack during the three opening flights running Sept. 21-22. The first two flights feature 40-minute blind levels while the final Turbo opening flight features 30-minute blind levels.

Players will have plenty of chances to build a big stack in the Main Event with all three opening flights allowing for unlimited reentries. The final three days of the tournament will also feature a deeper structure with 60-minute blind levels.

There are eleven 40-minute levels scheduled for all Day 1s, including a 60-minute dinner break at the end of level 8 (around 6.30pm for Day 1a) with play expected to conclude at around 10pm.

Another event that looked primed to boast a sizable prize pool is the PKC HKD 80,000 High Roller, with the opening flight attracting 54 runners, with late registration remaining open until the start of level 13 on Day 2 later today. This will be playing out concurrently with the opening flight of the Main Event. You can follow all the high rolling action here.

With the High Roller already up on previous numbers, the Main Event looks primed to pull a sizable field and the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to cover all the tournament action, so stick around for all the thrills and spills when play gets underway shortly.
