Erquiaga Tests He
After a couple of raise-fold hands, a sizable pot played out between Ling He and David Erquiaga that saw the two switch places in the counts and leave Erquiaga as the short-stack.
It was Erquiaga the man driving the action with a 75,000 open from the hijack, with He the only caller in the big blind. The flop saw He seize the initiative with a lead for 60,000 and Erquiaga spent quite some time mulling over his options before deciding to call.
The turn brought another bet from He, this one for 125,000, leaving himself roughly 430,000 or so behind. After another lengthy visit to the think tank, the Filipino player called once more and the river double paired the board and completed a possible spade flush.
He did not seem thrilled about the pair up, tank-checking to Erquiaga, who put the Chinese player to the test with a bet of 250,000 - over half of He's remaining chips. He really thought long and hard about it before deciding to roll the dice and making the call.
Erquiaga turned over and seemed surprised when He rolled over for the flush to claim the pot.
