After a few hands without too much post-flop play, Marc Seymour and Mark Staples had winning pots, Luis Arrilucea was the first player today to go all-in. He was UTG and play folded back to Didier Guerin in the big blind. Guerin thought for a while, then folded.

It’s the final day of the Poker Palace Summer Championships $1150 Main Event and the 18 players who remain out of the 366 entries will be playing it out to see who can outlast the rest to pocket the cool $100,000 for first-place.
For many of the 18 players, the six-figure first-place prize will be their biggest win ever, even outstripping their total poker career earnings. Though one player, Grant Levy, Australian Poker Hall of Famer and 14th on Australia’s all-time money list is no stranger to the big stage, and his experience will see him as one of the favourites to take the title. Another player with a big win under his belt already is Kiavash Arbabi who won the APL Million event last year at the Star Casino for over $300,000.
Aussie Millions ring-holder Luis Arrilucea is certainly no slouch either and will be tough to get past. Michael Oscuro with four recent wins here in recent months is also likely to figure in the finish, and Joseph Antar, winner of the Marconi Christmas Cup High Roller here at the Poker Palace in Dec for $75,000 will also be one to watch.
Leading the field will be Toby Giles (2,725,000), Adnan Al-Maliki (1,803,000) and Mark Staples (1,600,000), and the table draw sees the two biggest stacks on the same table as Oscuro (1,150,000) and Arbabi (1,035,0000).
Staples will have Levy (695,000), Antar (755,000) and Arrilucea (510,000) to contend with on his starting table, along with Didier Guerin (540,000) who is looking for his breakthrough win in a major. Also on that table is Suzy Khoueis (315,000) who won three consecutive Ladies Event titles at the Sydney Championships and despite being the shortest stack can never be underestimated.
The average stack size is just over 1,000,000, and the blinds are 60 minutes and will re-start at 18:39 in level 22 at 10,000/25,000/25,000 at 5.p.m local time. It’s going to be a great day here at the Club Marconi, make sure to follow all the action here on PokerNews.
