Jake Schindler Wins PokerGO Cup Event #5: $25K NLHE ($324,000)
Jake Schindler defeated the 2021 U.S. Poker Champion David Peters in heads-up play on Sunday evening to win the PokerGO Cup Event #5: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em at the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort & Casino for $324,000.
Schindler entered the six-player official final table with the chip lead and never looked back while eliminating four of his opponents en route to victory.
"I pretty much just card racked," Schindler said to PokerGO after the win. "I didn’t have many decisions. Everything went well."
The victory was Schindler's second on the PokerGO Tour. Back in May, Schindler won the Aria High Roller 18: $25,000 No Limit Hold'em for $310,500.
“I’m just competitive, so it’s a good outlet for that,” Schindler shared with PokerGO when asked about what drives him to compete at the game’s highest levels. “It’s the only outlet I really have. I like it. I like competing.”

The PokerGO Cup Event #5: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em attracted 36 entries generating a healthy $900,000 prize pool. The final table, which took place at the PokerGO Studio at the ARIA Resort & Casino, was broadcasted to poker fans around the world at the subscription-based PokerGO.

Final Table Action
Schindler kicked off the final table as the table captain, a status he never gave up throughout the evening.
GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu was the first casualty at the final table. He jammed 14 big blinds from the small blind with queen-seven suited and was called by Schindler with a dominating king-queen. "Kid Poker" had to settle for the sixth-place prize of $45,000 after the board ran dry.
Sean Winter (fifth - $72,000) was the only player not eliminated by Schindler. He was down to less than a big blind and went from being on fumes to out of gas after his seven-five was no good against the nine-deuce suited held by David Peters.
Schindler resumed his role as the table terminator after winning a flip with queen-jack against sevens to eliminate Stephen Chidwick in fourth place for $99,000.
David Coleman, who was at his third final table of the 2021 PokerGO Cup, was the next to go in third place for $144,000. Schindler jammed with nine-six from the small blind and Coleman called with ace-three. A nine paired up Schindler on the flop and Coleman was drawing dead after Schindler further improved to a flush on the turn.
Schindler Wins Another Race to Oust Peters in Heads-Up Play
Schindler began heads-up play against Peters with a 3:1 chip advantage before extending it slightly to a 4:1 advantage when the final hand took place.

Schindler quickly pulled ahead after he paired his queen on the 
flop. Neither the

river were able to improve Peters to a set and he was eliminated in second place for a healthy runner-up prize of $216,000.
2021 PokerGO Cup Standings
The top three spots on the PokerGO Cup Leaderboard remain the same with Event #2 and Event #4 winner Ali Imsirovic still out in front with a healthy lead followed by Event #3 champion Dylan Lynde and Event #1 champion Alex Foxen.
Event #5 runner-up David Coleman catapulted to fourth place on the leaderboard after his third final table appearance this festival while Event #5 winner Jake Schindler also climbed into the top five.
Imsirovic's lead will continue for at least one more day as none of the final six players in Event #6: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em can dethrone the Bosnian poker superstar on Monday.
