Almost Set to Go

We have a table full of players, and they just have begun taking their seats. A few of them are giving quick interviews for the local media, but we expect to be underway in a few short minutes.

A Slight Delay

With the expected starting time for the event having come and gone, we are still awaiting news on the schedule for Event #4. At this moment, there are five players registered, including Mark Vos, Van Marcus, Roy Vandersluis, James Obst, and Joe Hachem. As we type, Billy "The Croc" Argyros has just straggled in, and the staff is waiting to see if we can get a full table going. Stay tuned!

2008 PokerNews Cup Australia Championships - Event 4

While expected to be a small affair -- like one or two tables small -- the $10,000 High Stakes H.O.R.S.E. event will likely attract some of the best all-around poker players in Australia when action gets underway at 12:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Last year's big buy-in event was the $10,000 Australian Bad Boys of Poker Invitational, an invite only tournament that featured the likes of Jeff Lisandro, Tony G, Mark Vos, Emad Tahtouh, Lee Nelson, Sam Khouiss, Billy 'The Croc' Argyros, Arul Thillai, David Saab and eventual winner Gary Benson.

This time around, PokerNews is spreading the love to the 'good boys' of poker as well, having opened the doors to the tournament for anyone willing to pony up the buy-in. Oh, and don't forget... today we're playing H.O.R.S.E., not hold'em. Borrowing a line from everyone's favorite mouth, "The kiddie game is down the street."

Our coverage will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. See you then!
