So Far, So Good for the Defending Champ

The reigning PokerNews Cup Main Event champion, Dory Zayneh has built his stack up rather nicely throughout the early levels of Day 1b. He's our current chip leader, sitting with over 80,000 chips after this minor battle with Tony Dunst occurred.

After one player limped in, Dunst raised to 700. Brandon Huynh called, Dory Zayneh called, the small blind called, and the limper called. With five players still in the hand, the flop came down {10-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}.

The small blind and preflop limper both checked. Dunst fired 2,600. Huynh folded and Zayneh called. Both other players folded as well.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and Dunst checked. Zayneh bet 3,500 and Dunst called.

The river was the {8-Hearts}, pairing the board with eights. Dunst checked and Zayneh bet. This time he made it 11,000. Dunst folded and Zayneh showed the {8-Spades}.

"I didn't need the repeat," announced Zayneh.

"Yes, you did," replied Dunst.
