It was a great comeback today by the Live Team to add some respectability to the score but ultimately it wasn't enough.

However one shining light was Ben Savage who takes home the trophy as the overall points champion. He claimed 155 points for his third place today and quarter-final effort yesterday to narrowly collect the prize ahead of Andrew Jeffreys, Steve Leonard and Peter Aristidou who were all on 150 points. Congratulations Ben!

Thanks for your company in this event, but stay tuned to PokerNews.com as the exciting Tony G Celebrity Bounty Event has just kicked off!

Dave Lee Eliminated in 2nd Place; Peter Aristidou Wins Shootout

Peter Aristidou Wins Shootout
Peter Aristidou Wins Shootout
It's all over! A tough heads-up battle has been decided by a tremendous river call to give Peter Aristidou the victory and make Ben Savage a very happy man.

The hand started with Dave Lee raising from the button to 7,000 and Peter Aristidou making the call in the big blind.

The flop came down {9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Aristidou checked over to Lee who fired 11,000. Aristidou made the call. The turn brought the {6-Clubs} and this time Aristidou led for 16,000 before Lee popped it to 40,000. Aristidou made a deliberate call and the players went to the {2-Spades} river.

Aristidou checked over to Lee who announced he was all in. It was a bet of over 80,000 chips and Aristidou went into the tank. He stood from his chair before he declared a call.

"You got me," said Lee and flipped {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} as Aristidou slammed his cards down onto the felt in delight as his {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} was good with just ace-high! A remarkable call to win the tournament!

Aristidou Levels It Up

Peter Aristidou has gained some momentum after a raise, three-bet, four-bet that forced Lee to let his hand go preflop.

The chips are looking even once more. While the teams prize is already locked away, there is some cash up for grabs but also there is the prestige of the individual points winner on the line.

A beautiful trophy is up for grabs and at the moment it's a race between two. Ben Savage is in front overall, and will remain there if Peter Aristidou wins, but if Dave Lee can take it down if he is victorious here.

Ben Savage Eliminated in 3rd Place

Savage: eliminated
Savage: eliminated
Ben Savage has been eliminated in third place at the hands of Dave Lee, adding more spice to the Individual Points race.

Lee raised it up to 7,000 from the button, Peter Aristidou folded on the small blind and Savage made the call, going heads-up to a flop that read {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

Savage checked, Lee fired out 12,000 and Savage called which then brought the turn of the {3-Diamonds} - and the fireworks.

Savage shoved all-in and Lee snap-called, tabling {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for top pair, but was behind the flopped two pair of Savage, who held {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

With one card to come, a miracle on the river for Lee - the {Q-Diamonds} - spiked on the river! Lee reeled away from the table in mixed emotions; Savage stared blankly at the board wondering what might have been.

Some Minor Action

In what is becoming an increasing grind between the final three members of Team Live, we've managed to pick up a small snippet of action.

Ben Savage folded on the button, Dave Lee raised to 7,000 from the small blind and Peter Aristidou made the call from the big blind.

A scary flop of {7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} - Lee made the bet of 11,000 and Aristidou laid it down.

Aristidou made the suggestion of reducing the blinds down to 10 minutes, but that's probably asking a bit much.

Aristidou On The Grind

Despite the minor setback, he's Aristidou-ing well!
Despite the minor setback, he's Aristidou-ing well!
The action has slowed to a crawl as play continues between our three remaining players.

Ben Savage limped in from the button, Dave Lee folded on the small blind and Peter Aristidou checked to see a flop of {K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Spades}.

Aristidou led out for 2,500, Savage called and they checked down the turn and river of {4-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

Savage tabled {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}; his pair good enough to take down the pot.
