Angelo Prifti Eliminated in 8th Place (AU$15,000)

Angelo Prifti eliminated in 8th place
Angelo Prifti has landed another big score this week after a third place finish in the $550 buy in Bounty Shootout.

This time Prifti will have to settle for an eighth place finish. Preflop, Carl Booth opened to 150,000 from early position and Prifti moved all in from the small blind for 873,000.

Sam Khouiss asked for a count on Prifti before opting to fold and then action was back on Booth.

Booth went into the tank for several minutes. Eventually he stood up, flipped a coin and said, "I call".

Prifti tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and would be up against Booth's {Q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop betrayed Prifti. He was unable to catch up to Booth through the {10-Clubs} turn and {5-Clubs} river, so has been eliminated from the tournament.

Booth moves over 2,600,000 and is leading the tournament.

Khouiss' Least Favoruite Crown Staff Member

Sam and the dealer...
Sam and the dealer...
A new dealer change has raised the ire of the Sam Khouiss. Apparently the dealer dealt a high-stakes cash game that Khouiss was involved in.

Always a source of colour for the live reporting team he's been on fire with the one liners:

"I lost $50,000 with this guy dealing... eight nights in a row."

"Why don't you get another job?"

"How long does he have left here? Watch me take two minutes to make every decision."

"This guy put me in the poor house."

Lawrence Gibson Eliminated in 9th Place (AU$12,000)

Con Tsapkounis opened to 90,000 from under the gun, and Lawrence Gibson moved all in over the top from the small blind. Tsapkounis went into the tank before making the call.

Gibson {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Tsapkounis {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Gibson looked set to double up after the {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop, but the {8-Diamonds} spiked the turn to make Tsapkounis a set.

Gibson was unable to catch up when the {6-Hearts} fell on the river to become the first player eliminated on the final table.

"I lay down Jacks before, and now I call with Eights" said Tsapkounis to a friend at the rail.

Tsapkounis moves up to 1,100,000 in chips.

Punishing The Limpers

Until now the table has seemed to have a pretty liberal attitude towards limping. The tide may be changing if recent action is anything to go off.

In one hand German Marchese limped up, with Nino Ascenzio completing from the small blind. Angelo Prifti powered it up to 125,000 from the big blind and both players folded.

A hand later saw Prifti limp from the small blind only to have Sam Khouiss force the fold with a 125,000 chip bet.

Another example saw Lawrence Gibson trying to get in for cheap from under the gun, only for Carl Booth to make it 160,000 as the next to act.

With this type of aggression we can't be far way from our first elimination.

All In Ascenzio

Preflop, German Marchese limped in from middle position with Joe Cabret and Nino Ascenzio taking the {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop out of the blinds.

Both of the blinds checked to Marchese who bet 75,000. Cabret called from the small blind, and then Ascenzio check-raised all in from the big blind.

Marchese and Cabret thought it best to allow Ascenizo to take it down.
