Day 2 of the PokerStars Festival Chile $500,000 guaranteed Main Event has come to an end with 32 players bagging their chips and moving on to Day 3.

Three Chileans lead the field and look to close out strong .Leading the way is two-time LAPT High Roller champion, Amos Ben, who has amassed quite an impressive resume. He has over $800,000 in live career earnings, with his biggest score of $101,000 from the 2015 Gran Final Millonaria Enjoy Conrad in Uruguay. Ben goes into Day 3 with 796,000 chips after a late surge on Day 2.

Miguel Zarzar sits in second place, and who was among the top three in chips for most of the day. Zarzar is a popular local and looks to go deep with his 632,000 in chips. Rounding out the top three is Hector Valenzuela. He bagged 471,000 and is looking for his first live Main Event cash.

Other notables moving on to Day 3 include Andres Vega (388,000), Tomas Carvallo (381,000), Sergio Dario Tello (341,000), Richard Dubini (287,000), Nicolas Malandre (269,000), Joaquin Barcena (155,000), Martin Pineiro (130,000) and Andre Roberto Finkelberg (125,000).

The day ended mid-way through level 17 and players will begin Day 3 from that point. Around the start of level 16, the money bubble burst and it was Team PokerStars Pro and High Roller Champion, Leo Fernandez, who was the final elimination before the money hit. Chile's Quirima Gonzalez was the last woman in the field and the only one to make it to Day 2, walking away with ($2,840) for her efforts.

As expected, Chile has turned out to be a popular destination for South Americans, but plenty of players from other countries around the world have joined in on the action. Of the 224 unique entries in the Main Event, Chile made up 133 of these, with Argentina having the second-best showing with 63. Brazil had six entries, and Mexico attracted five. There were 17 players from other countries, including one a piece from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States and Canada.

Day 3 begins at noon local time and will play down to eight players. Blinds will continue from 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante where the remaining 32 players will battle it out for the PokerStars Festival Chile Main Event title, and the $97,360 that goes along with it.

Keep following along as PokerNews continues to provide live updates and Main Event coverage.
