Corey Corgasm231 Paggeot Wins MICOOP Event #49: $250 NLHE Thursday Thrill PKO SE Championship Trophy

Corey Corgasm231 Paggeot, a two-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit ring winner, defeated luckyduckylucky in heads-up play to win the 2021 MICOOP Event #49: $250 NLHE Thursday Thrill PKO SE Championship Trophy Event, $40K GTD for a top prize of $3,969 + $5,825 in bounties.

While he currently lives in Las Vegas and works with Matt Berkey at Solve For Why, Paggeot was back home in Michigan when he decided to fire up the MICOOP on PokerStars. It proved to be a wise and profitable decision.

The event attracted 195 entries and the total prize pool of $45,435 broke through the guarantee.

Action of the Day

The run of Paggeot partially began when he was able to put a beat on Rogggggy and eliminated them as the bubble boy. That propelled him into the chip lead with three tables left and he continued to accumulate chips and was the chip leader heading into the final table.

At the final table, "xvuszvs2739" was the first to go when they ran into quads and soon after, rebuy1000 was gone in eighth place. The seven remaining players battled back-and-forth for more than half an hour before Paggeot was dealt ladies and took down Freezey42 in seventh. Paggeot made another elimination with a strong pocket pair when Tim "BishPlz94" Bishop was ousted by cowboys in sixth place and he found yet another bounty when taking out DeeerTaaaY in fifth place when he flopped a pair and made two pair on the turn.

With four players remaining, Paggeot was at one point the short stack and was dangerously close to elimination when his king-ten ran into ace-ten but found a miracle king on the turn to stay alive. That hand crippled flopping air who then fell on the next hand in fourth place to luckyduckylucky. Paggeot was at risk again three-handed but his jacks held against the king-nine of "dankecomwieder", who was gone in third on the hand after that.

When heads-up play began, Paggeot was nearly a 3:1 dog, but he eventually found himself with the chip lead without even once being at risk and with only a few showdowns. That style continued and Paggeot found himself with an overwhelming lead soon enough. Eventually, Paggeot got luckyduckylucky all-in in a spot where he was a big favorite, holding ace-king against king-ten, and when the board ran out bricks, Paggeot was on the receiving end of the first-place title, $9,794 in total winnings, and a shiny trophy.

"luckyduckylucky" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($3,968 + $1,755)

Blinds 35,000-70,000

"Corgasm231" called in the small blind and "luckyduckylucky" jammed for 1,588,282. "Corgasm231" called and hands were revealed.

"Corgasm231": {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
"luckyduckylucky": {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

"Corgasm231" found himself in a very favorable position and stayed ahead on the {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop. The {7-Diamonds} turn left "luckyduckylucky" looking for a ten or nine, but the {j-Hearts} completed the board, making "Corgasm231" victorious as he wins the first-place prize, the bounty, and the trophy.

Although "luckyduckylucky" wasn't so lucky in heads-up play, they will still take the $3,968 second-place prize as well as $1,755 in collected bounties.

Stay tuned for a recap of the event.

"dankecomwieder" Eliminated in 3rd Place ($2,604 + $998)

Blinds 25,000-50,000

"dankecomwieder" jammed in the small blind and "Corgasm231" called off their remaining stack of 621,582 in the big blind.

"dankecomwieder": {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
"Corgasm231": {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

"dankecomwieder" was unlucky to run into the fishhooks of "Corgasm231" but had outs. The {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop gave him more outs if a nine were to come. However, the {6-Hearts} turn and {5-Hearts} river kept "Corgasm231" alive and left "dankecomwieder" with only a few big blinds.

On the very next hand, "dankecomwieder" got in their remaining stack of 148,646 on the button and "luckyduckylucky" called in the big blind. It was the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} of "luckyduckylucky" which held against the {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} on a board of {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {k-Hearts}, and "dankecomwieder" was eliminated, and the two remaining players started heads-up play.

"flopping air" Eliminated in 4th Place ($1,979 + $998)

Blinds 25,000-50,000

A few hands prior, "Corgasm231" lost most of their chips to "luckyduckylucky" when running tens into aces.

On this hand, action folded to "flopping air" who jammed in the small blind and "Corgasm231" called in the big blind for 471,291 more.

"flopping air": {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}
"Corgasm231": {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

"flopping air" had a dominating lead on the {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Spades} flop. However, it all changed on the {k-Clubs} turn. The {7-Spades} river doubled "Corgasm231" and left "flopping air" crippled with less than a big blind as they wondered aloud, "howwwwww".

On the very next hand "flopping air" fell to "luckyduckylucky" with {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades} versus {10-Spades}{4-Spades} on a board of {10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {9-Hearts}.

"DeeerTaaaY" Eliminated in 5th Place ($1,504 + $714)

Blinds 20,000-40,000

"DeeerTaaaY" shoved in his stack of 503,598 chips from the cutoff and "Corgasm231" re-jammed from the button as the blinds folded.

"DeeerTaaaY": {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}
"Corgasm231": {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

The {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop gave both players a pair but put "Corgasm231" ahead. The {q-Diamonds} turn meant only a river ace or nine would save "DeeerTaaaY" but it was the {5-Clubs} to complete the board and send the pot to "Corgasm231".

Tim "BishPlz94" Bishop Eliminated in 6th Place ($1,143 + $881)

Blinds 20,000-40,000

Tim "BishPlz94" Bishop opened from the hijack to 220,000 putting him all but all-in and "Corgasm231" jammed from the small blind. Bishop called for his last 3,202 chips and hands were shown.

Tim "BishPlz94" Bishop: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
"Corgasm231": {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Bishop ran into the cowboys of "Corgasm231" and was looking for some help. The {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop meant Bishop picked up an out and would stay alive if the case ten were to come. However, the {6-Hearts} turn and {q-Hearts} river were no help and Bishop was eliminated in sixth.

"Freezey42" Eliminated in 7th Place ($868 + $583)

Blinds 15,000-30,000

Before the break, "Freezey42" shoved in their 338,200 stack from the cutoff and "Corgasm231" called in the big blind.

"Freezey42": {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
"Corgasm231": {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

"Freezey42" needed some help but the {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop left him drawing slim. The {7-Spades} turn left him with no hope and the meaningless {8-Clubs} came on the river as "Corgasm231" took the chips and the bounty of "Freezey42".
