Steve "BetrThanPhil" Tripp, already with two titles in the PokerStars Ontario Championship of Online Poker (ONCOOP), put himself in a position to win a third on Day 10 but would once again fall just short.
$50 NLHE [8-Max]
Event 38-L: $50 NLHE [8-Max] drew 297 total entries, generating a prize pool of $13,513.50. "PADRE3867" held the chip lead at the start of the final table with 2,056,603, double the stack of Tripp in second place.
"fishbowl101" was the first elimination after moving all in for 285,638. "PADRE3867" called and won a coin flip with ace-jack against eights to send out "fishbowl101" in eighth place.
"liam1050" would next be the victim of some misfortune. They raised to 75,000 before Tripp moved all in. "liam1050" called for 435,805 and was in a good spot to double up with queens to Tripp's fours. Tripp, though, flopped a set to bust "liam1050" in seventh.
"PADRE3867" increased their lead by winning a 572,000 pot against Tripp with a rivered pair of jacks, then hitting a set of aces on the river in a 795,000 three-way pot as they held more than half the chips in play six-handed. Shyam "G's zee" Srinivasan, one of the biggest winners in online poker history with more than $10 million in career earnings, wouldn't add an ONCOOP title to his accomplishments today after moving all in for 350,310 from the big blind over a raise from "Andygames768." They called with king-four and flopped a four to beat Srinivasan's ace-jack and send him to the virtual rail in sixth.
"Andygames768" enjoyed a meteoric rise to near the top of the counts that would end just as quickly. They took a chunk off "PADRE3867" after calling all in for 778,875 with ace-jack and holding on to double against king-jack. "Andygames768" then called a bet of 126,750 from "mosie27" on an ace-high flop and another 253,500 on the turn. "mosie27" shoved for 458,974 on the river and "Andygames768" called with king-queen for the turned Broadway straight. "mosie27," though, made aces full of jacks on the river to double up. "Andygames768" was eliminated a few hands later after shoving for 624,026 with ace-seven. "PADRE3867" called with queen-jack and flopped trips to end "Andygames768"'s run in fifth place.
Tripp doubled up through "PADRE3867" for 646,606 with king-queen, then it was the turn of "Jimmy2009" to double up for 1,323,908 after having queens hold up against Tripp's flush draw.
"mosie27" won a 1,500,000 pot off "PADRE3867" by calling a bet of 500,000 on theriver with just ace-high, then won a 1,800,000 pot with a set of sevens to take the chip lead. On a six-high flop, "PADRE3867" moved all in after "Jimmy2009" bet 375,000, and "Jimmy2009" called for 417,908 with eight-six. "PADRE3867" had a flush draw but missed as the one-time massive chip leader dropped to the bottom of the counts. Four hands later, "PADRE3867" flopped two pair but ran into "Jimmy2009"'s set of sixes to bust in fourth place.
Tripp won a 1,905,000 pot against "mosie27" with queen-ten for a straight, but would give away those chips the next hand. Tripp bet 378,000 on the river and was called by "Jimmy2009" with a pair of jacks. Tripp could only show queen-high for a failed bluff.
The three players would then all see a five-high flop as "Jimmy2009" bet 175,000 and was called by "mosie27." Tripp then raised to 840,000, getting rid of "Jimmy2009," but "mosie27" raised all in and Tripp called for his last 307,758. "mosie27" had two kings, but Tripp showed seven-six for the nut straight to double up and climb near the chip lead. "mosie27" then shoved the button for 1,087,650 with king-jack but Tripp woke up with aces in the small blind to get heads-up against "Jimmy2009" with a 3,994,529 to 3,430,471 chip lead.
"Jimmy2009" jumped into a big lead after betting 160,000 on an ace-high board. Tripp came back with a raise to 736,000 and was called. "Jimmy2009" shoved the river for 1,980,221 and Tripp quickly folded. The next hand, Tripp again raised to 608,000 on the flop and "Jimmy2009" called. Both players checked the turn before "Jimmy2009" bet 880,000 on the river, drawing another fold from Tripp.
Tripp managed to climb back up to around 3,000,000 when he called a bet of 800,000 on the turn of an ace-high board. Tripp led out for 100,000 when a second jack fell on the river and showed jack-ten for rivered trips after "Jimmy2009" called to retake the lead.
On the next hand, "Jimmy2009" shoved for 1,736,519 on the turn with two nines showing. Tripp went into his time bank before calling with pocket sevens. "Jimmy2009" had king-nine for trips to double up to 5,744,938. "Jimmy2009" nearly won the tournament shortly after as Tripp moved all in for 705,062, less than six big blinds, and "Jimmy2009" called with king-jack. "Jimmy2009" flopped a pair of kings, but Tripp made two pair on the turn with queen-eight to double.
Tripp doubled up again when he shoved for 1,035,124 on the river and "Jimmy2009" called with two pair, sevens and sixes. Tripp, though, had two queens and sevens to win the pot. He took the chip lead once more in a 1,700,000 pot with a pair of tens before the two tangled in a massive pot.
Tripp bet 432,000 on a queen-high board, then moved all in on the river. "Jimmy2009" called for 1,712,878 with a pair of queens and doubled up against Tripp's pair of fours. Two hands later, Tripp was all in for 1,932,224 with two nines while "Jimmy2009" had ace-queen. An ace spiked on the river to give "Jimmy2009" the title and $2,554.09 top prize.

"7SettBello7" soon joined him after shoving for 215,406. "all3y_k" called and both players flopped two pair, but "all3y_k" made aces and tens on the river to eliminate "7SettBello7" in sixth.
A three-way all in would soon see "L3G3NDA1RY" take the chip lead. "windexxxx" opened the action by moving all in for 123,448. "L3G3NDA1RY" reshoved for 1,226,109 and "Legiit4" called to put both players at risk. A massive three-way all in would determine the outcome of the tournament. "all3y_k" raised to 100,000 before "L3G3NDA1RY" moved all in for 1,229,803. "Legiit4" reshoved for 2,278,021 and "all3y_k" called to put both players at risk with a chance to end the tournament. "all3y_k" had ace-king, 'L3G3NDA1RY" ace-queen, and "Legiit4" two tens. The tens held up as "Legiit4" eliminated "L3G3NDA1RY" in third place and doubled up thru "all3y_k" to take a massive chip lead into heads-up.
On the third hand of heads-up, "all3y_k" shoved for 1,103,155 with jacks and "Legiit4" called with ace-queen. "Legiit4" turned an ace to take the lead and held on to win the pot and the title.
