Shaban Beats "DjAres92" Again; "all3y_k" Wins For Second Straight Day
File this one under "what are the chances." On Day 11, Team PokerStars Pro Arlie "Prince Pablo" Shaban and "DjAres92" both navigated through 233 players to reach heads-up of Event 41, with Shaban prevailing for his fourth PokerStars Ontario Championship of Online Poker (ONCOOP) title. Today on Day 12, the two of them got a chance to stage a rematch.
Event 45-L: $30 NLHE-PLO [6-Max]
Event 45-L: $30 NLHE-PLO [6-Max] attracted 171 total entries, creating a prize pool of $4,668.30. Shaban, a day after winning two ONCOOP titles, was back at another final table and led the final six players with 1,148,077, nearly 400,000 more than his closest challenger.
His lead wouldn't last for long. "jusgivithere" bet 43,500 on the flop and was called by "PhongHuong." "jusgivithere" bet another 116,000 on the turn, then shoved for 297,124 on the river. "PhongHuong" called both bets as "jusgivithere" showed queen-jack for a straight. "PhongHuong" had eight-five of spades for a rivered flush to bust "jusgivithere" in sixth place and pass Shaban for the chip lead.
"BagNotCrums" was next out after shoving for 166,828 in a round of Pot-Limit Omaha. "DJAres92" called and turned a flush to beat "BagNotCrums"'s two pair, queens and sevens.
"groupbrett" put a significant dent in "PhongHuong"'s stack when, in a hand of No-Limit Hold'em, they raised to 63,000 and "PhongHuong" came back with a three-bet to 249,000. "groupbrett" moved all in for 516,256 and "PhongHuong" called with a pair of kings. "groupbrett" had ace-jack and needed help to survive, getting it as they flopped an ace as well as the nut flush draw before turning trips to secure a double up. "groupbrett" then flopped the nut straight with ten-eight to win a 942,000 pot off "PhongHuong" and take the chip lead.
"PhongHuong" got those chips back in a big way when they bet 262,500 on a jack-high flop and "groupbrett" called. A king fell on the turn and "PhongHuong" moved all in for 744,152. "groupbrett" called and "PhongHuong" showed two aces to beat a pair of sixes as they took down the massive 2,500,000 pot. "groupbrett," reduced to just 164,360, was eliminated in fourth place the next hand by Shaban.
Shaban regained the chip lead after calling a bet of 247,500 from "PhongHuong" on a ten-high board. "PhongHuong" shoved the river and Shaban called for 667,788 with aces, beating nine-eight in a 2,300,000 pot. "PhongHuong" then doubled up "DjAres92" after calling an all-in shove of 505,632 with ten-six. Up against ace-king, they flopped a six to take thelead, but "DjAres92" rivered a king.
"PhongHuong"'s rapid downfall was completed when they raised to 150,000, "DjAres92" three-bet to 475,000, and "PhongHuong" shoved for 513,976. "DjAres92" called with aces and had "PhongHuong" drawing dead by the turn as they were eliminated in third place.
Shaban and "DjAres92" found themselves in the same spot they were in a day before: heads-up for an ONCOOP title. Shaban led 2,825,760 to 1,449,240, but "DjAres92" narrowed the gap when they bet 338,000 on the turn and Shaban folded to surrender the 770,000 pot.
The two players remained close in chips before tangling in the pot that would determine the champion. Shaban raised to 120,000, "DjAres92" three-bet to 300,000, and Shaban shoved. "DjAres92" called for 1,302,260 with ace-nine and needed to hold against Shaban's king-queen of diamonds. The flop was all diamonds, giving Shaban a flush and his fifth ONCOOP title.

Event 45-H: $200 NLHE-PLO [6-Max]
Shaban wasn't the only one to win an ONCOOP title for the second consecutive day as "all3y_k," winner of Event 41, was back at a final table after navigating through a field of 79 entries in Event 45-H: $200 NLHE-PLO [6-Max].
"neclord-doom," a three-time ONCOOP champion, led at the start of the six-handed final table with 1,033,136 but took a hit early after doubling up Michael "WalmartCNXN" Farrow. Farrow four-bet shoved for 248,170 with kings and beat the ace-king of "neclord-doom" to stay alive in the tournament.
But it wouldn't be for long. Soon after, Farrow bet 88,000 on a queen-high board and "sumsmart66" called. Farrow shoved for 354,340 on the river and "sumsmart66" again called with two eights for a flopped set, cracking Farrow's pocket aces as he finished in sixth place.
"all3y_k" then bet 48,000 on a board of two jacks, then called for their last 193,298 when "neclord-doom" moved all in. "all3y_k" had jack-ten for trips to double up.
"sumsmart66" began to open a big lead after "all3y_k" bet 210,000 on a six-high board and "sumsmart66" came back with a raise to 840,000. "all3y_k" folded as "sumsmart66" dragged in the 630,000 pot. Two hands later, "all3y_k" got some of those chips back when "Lokfable" was all in for 129,302 with two pair, jacks and tens, but lost to "ally3y_k"'s kings and tens to finish in fifth.
"all3y_k" took their turn as chip leader after forcing "sumsmart66" to fold to a 723,252 raise on a queen-high board. "neclord-doom" then bet 450,000 on another queen-high board and "sumsmart66" moved all in. "neclord-doom" called for their last 52,036 and turned a set of eights to beat "sumsmart66"'s pair of fives.
"sumsmart66" was then all in for 130,219 on the flop against "Feath21" and ahead with two pair, but "Feath21" rivered a straight to knock out the one-time massive chip leader in fourth place. "Feath21" soon joined them on the virtual rail as they were all in for 148,455 on a king-high flop and "neclord-doom" finished with aces and eights to beat aces and threes and set up a heads-up match.
"neclord-doom" led 2,469,952 to 1,480,048 at the beginning of heads-up, but "all3y_k" flopped a set of sixes and finished with a full house to take a 1,050,000 pot and the chip lead early on. "neclord-doom" fell down to 556,630 before picking up jacks and doubling up against ace-five.
A series of small pots gave "neclord-doom" a slight chip lead before the two opponents got involved in a massive pot. "neclord-doom" three-bet to 256,556, then bet 348,741 on the turn of a queen-high board. "all3y_k" called and "neclord-doom" shoved the jack river. "all3y_k" called for 1,322,109 with aces to beat king-queen. Down to just 85,188, only four big blinds, "neclord-doom" was eliminated the next hand as "all3y_k" made two pair with eight-deuce to win their second ONCOOP title in as many days.
