Pedro Marques Eliminated in 5th Place ($1,251,500)

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Elimination Pedro Marques
Elimination Pedro Marques

Pedro Marques raised to 1,000,000 on the button and Philipe Pizzari shoved all in as the bigger stack from the small blind. Marques quickly called off his stack of 7,100,000 and the cards were on their backs.

Pedro Marques: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Philipe Pizzari: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The flop came {5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Marques still held the lead with the better kicker. The turn was the {a-Spades} as Marquez was in a prime position to double up. However, the {6-Clubs} on the river gave Pizzari two pair and Marques was sent to the rail in fifth place.

"Get me a barf bag," Maria Ho commented from the booth as Marques was eliminated by a cold deck.

Barbero Unhappy with a Chopped Pot

Level 34 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Jose Nacho Barbero
Jose Nacho Barbero

Max Menzel opened to 1,000,000 from under the gun and Nacho Barbero three-bet shoved all in for 7,125,000 in the big blind. Menzel asked for a count and eventually made the call.

Nacho Barbero: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Max Menzel: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Barbero stood up from his seat while Menzel was in the tank and had a sour reaction when Menzel flicked in his chips. The Argentinian was visibly unhappy as he told his rail "it's 100% a fold".

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades} and the two players chopped up the pot. "That may be the worst call," Barbero continued ranting after the hand.

Domination Rotation in Favor of Shylko

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Philipe Pizzari opened to 800,000 in the cutoff with {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Aliaksandr Shylko three-bet to 3,000,000 from the big blind with {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Pizzari quickly called.

It was "domination rotation," as commentator James Hartigan put it, as the flop landed {3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts} to give Shylko the lead and he led out for 1,500,000. Pizzari called. Shylko slowed down on the {8-Spades} turn and Pizzari checked back.

Shylko checked again on the {4-Clubs} river and Pizzari checked back. Shylko showed the winner and Pizzari mucked.

Shylko Finds a Lucky River to Double Into the Lead

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Aliaksandr Shylko
Aliaksandr Shylko

Aliaksandr Shylko raised to 800,000 on the button and Philipe Pizzari ripped all in from the big blind. Shylko went into the tank, using four of his time banks before calling off his stack of 9,225,000.

Aliaksandr Shylko: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Philipe Pizzari: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Pizzari picked up a pair of kings to take a big lead. The {a-Spades} on the turn left Shylko drawing to just four outs and the {q-Hearts} on the river made his straight. Shylko jumped in exuberance as he doubled up into the chip lead.

Marques Picks Up Chips with Aces

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Pedro Marques raised it up to 1,300,000 in the small blind with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and Philipe Pizzari called from the big blind with {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Marques continued with a bet of 1,000,000. Pizzari called with his straight draw and the {9-Spades} landed on the turn.

Marques checked this time and Pizzari splashed in a bet of 1,800,000. Marques called with the best hand and the {2-Spades} completed the board. Both players tapped the table and Marques earned some chips with pocket aces.

Pizzari Makes Better Two Pair to Double Through Barbero

Level 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Philipe Pizzari
Philipe Pizzari

Aliaksandr Shylko limped in from the cutoff with {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Philipe Pizzari raised to 900,000 from the small blind with {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Nacho Barbero called in the big blind with {a-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Shylko also called.

The action flop landed {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} to give Pizzari top pair, Barbero aces up and Shylko an open-ended straight draw. Pizzari bet 1,200,000. Barbero raised to 3,800,000 and Shylko got out of the way. Pizzari called.

Incredibly, the {10-Clubs} landed on the turn to improve Pizzari to two pair and to set the stage for carnage.

"Someone call the doctor, someone is going to be in the poker hospital after this," Maria Ho commented from the booth.

Barbero moved all in and Pizzari quickly called with a stack of 8,550,000.

Philipe Pizzari: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Nacho Barbero: {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}

The {j-Spades} bricked off on the river and Pizzari took the chip lead as Barbero became the short stack.
