Welcome to the first day of the PokerNews live coverage of the 2020 PokerStars Stadium Series which will kick off at 7:05 p.m CEST. with Day 1 of the Freezeout Weekly Final - High: $530 NLHE [8-Max]. This 3-day event features a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000 during this festival which has a $50,000,000 of guarantees spread out over the tournament series of four weeks.

Prior to this Weekly Final, a bunch of Stadium Series Heats have already taken place with several familiar names and faces running deep already. Players like Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker, Tudor "tdr01" Lazar, Niall "firaldo87" Farrell, Jon "luckyfish89" Clark, Miguel "??toneecho??" Seoane, and Tatiana "Mysters_Y" Barausova have made a final table already and will be looking to take this one down.

Michael "munchenHB" Telker, Conor "1_conor_b_1" Beresford, and Cristian "Progre69" Sampaoli, have both already won a heat and are expected to join in on the fun today too, Top finishers in the Heats have gotten tickets to the coveted Stadium Series Sunday Finals so some of them will definitely be used for this Weekly Final.

Players will receive a 100,000 starting stack for their $530 buy-in and play 20-minute levels until there are 40 players left. As this is a freezeout tournament, no reentries are possible and the late registration period will remain open for the first 5 hours and 35 minutes of play. Day 1 will end after 8 hours and 50 minutes of play and Day 2 will resume at 5:05 p.m. CEST. When there are nine players left, Day 2 will break for the final table on Day 3 which will start at 5:05 CEST again.

Live coverage of the Stadium Series with hole cards and a 30-minute security delay will be available on the PokerStars Twitch Channel with commentary provided by James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton. They will be joined by Sam "SamSquid" Grafton and Griffin "Flush_Entity" Benger in the virtual commentary booth.
