The Potomac Poker Open Set to Begin with Multi-Flight $370 Opening Event
It is time for the Potomac Poker Open (PPO) to begin! The beautiful and expansive MGM National Harbor hotel will host this poker extravaganza in the mid-Atlantic starting today and will run through August 5. The series will have a total of 14 events, beginning with the $370 Opening Event, which starts today, July 25 2019.
The tournament features a fairly complex flight structure, giving players the five different starting flights to enter. Each player is allowed one re-entry per flight if they so chose. Day 1a is the first flight and will begin at 5 p.m. local time. Day 1b will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26; Day 1c at 5 p.m on Friday and Saturday repeats the pattern with starting flights at 11 and 5 again.
On each Day 1, levels will be 30 minutes in length. Registration will be open until the completion of level 11 each flight. Play will continue until 8% of the starting field remains, then play will cease for the night and the surviving players will return for Day 2 on Sunday July 28 with the remaining players from all five starting flights. 12% of the field will make the money, all players who make the money in Day 1 but fail to survive until the end of the day will receive a min cash of $550.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture all the action from this tournament as well as $370 Large Stack Big Blind Ante (July 31-August 1) and $3,300 buy-in, $1,000,000 GTD Main Event, (August 2-5) later in the series.
