After 22 Levels of play on day 1 of Event #6: $400 Monster Triple Stack at the Potomac Winter Poker Open just 28 players remain from an initial field of 275. Leading those 28 players is Lara Eisenberg, sitting on a massive stack of 2,685,000. That places her well in front of Jacob Mitich in second who was able to amass 1,830,000 during the day's play. Minwoo Ahn (1,725,000) rounds out the top three.

The tournament drew a total of 275 entries to generate a prizepool of $91,770. Each of the 30 players who receives a portion of that prizepool is guaranteed at least $597 with $22,298 reserved for the eventual winner.

It took until the final level of play for the money bubble to burst when Dave Helpard outflipped his opponent to bring the tournament down to just 30 players. Two more eliminations occurred in the final few minutes before the remaining 28 players bagged up for the night.

Eisenberg struggled to gain momentum early in the day, at one point being down to just 40,000. That all changed, however, as the afternoon progressed and by the dinner break, Eisenberg was among the big stacks in the room. That momentum only continued to grow as the night wore on, with Eisenberg making good use of her big stack during bubble play to put some distance between herself and the rest of the field.

The day 2 hopefuls will return at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1st at which point they will play down to a winner. Levels will continue to be 30 minutes in length with play resuming at Level 23 with blinds of 20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 big blind ante.
