Welcome back to the Peppermill Resort Hotel and the 2016 Run It Up Reno festival hosted by Jason Somerville for the $565 Main Event Final Table!
Just a few days ago, 391 players took to the felt spread over three day one flights to smash the prizepool guarantee. The field was a mix of WSOP bracelet winners, seasoned tournament veterans, local legends and poker amateurs as everyone looked to navigate their way to an elusive Main Event final table. And now we are here.
There are eight players remaining in the marquee event of the Run It Up Reno festival and each player is already guaranteed a $2,930 payday. However all eyes are on the $46,410 first prize, Run It Up Reno trophy and title of Main Event Champion.
Blake Vincent has the major advantage today as he is leading the final eight players into today as the overwhelming chip leader with 4,635,000; good for nearly half of the chips in play. Vincent shot up to the leaderboard when he busted Chad Holloway on the final table bubble when his set of eights outdrew Holloway's overpair.
Brian Ebert is the only other player with a seven-figure stack as he sits with 2,415,000 in chips after building a stack early on Day 2 and never relenting as he slowly motored his way up the leaderboard. The remaining six players are all clumped together as Jason Somerville will be one of the ones to watch. Not only is Somerville the most experienced of all the players with over $3.5 million in tournament earnings, 39 lifetime cashes and a WSOP bracelet, but is also the host of this Run It Up Reno festival.
However, all the final table combatants have played outstanding poker this last few days, and it truly is anyone's tournament if they can run some timely bluffs, hit a rush of cards, and navigate their way up the leaderboard to be crowned the winner.
