$235 Progressive Bounty Tourney Kicks Off at Noon

Run It Up Reno
Run It Up Reno

Run It Up Reno IX and the Run It Up Series in general is all about putting on innovative tournaments that most of the poker playing public don't have a chance to play live, and today's $235 Progressive Bounty tournament, with a $20,000 Guarantee, is a format that has almost exclusively been relegated to the online felt. Today, players will get the chance to see bounties grow exponentially on the physical felt.

For this $235, tournament, $100 of their buy-in will go into the prize pool, while the other $100 will be their starting bounty amount. Players start with $100 bounties. When a player knocks another player out, they will be paid out half of their opponent’s bounty, with the other half being added to their current bounty. If the player’s bounty cannot be divided equally, the extra chip will be rounded into the bounty payout. By the final table, some impressively sized bounties should be built up, giving players added incentive to gun after players that have built up big bounties.

Players will start with 15,000 in tournament chips, and blind levels are 20 minutes in length, with breaks occuring every two hours. Registration and re-entry are open through the first nine levels, or until approximately 3:10 p.m. local time. This is scheduled to be a single day event.

Today's event will be featured on the Run It Up Reno Twitch channel, and you can catch action from this tournament here starting at 7 p.m. local time, with the action on a dynamic delay designed to edit out all the breaks and pauses in the tournament so viewers at home get nothing but action from start to finish.

A few new faces that weren't able to get into this weekend's $440 Mini Main Event should be in action today, as Joe "Stapes" Stapleton and Adam Owen were both spotted yesterday. We also expect to see the Mini Main Event champ himself, John Gribben, who's still living the dream after spinning up an $85 satellite win into a whopping $30,000 payday for his win.

PokerNews will be bringing you all the action straight from the tournament floor all day long, and will sync with the Run It Up Twitch stream once they make the final table. Be sure to tune in to see just how high the bounties can go here at Peppermill Reno!
