Day 1b of the $440 Run It Up Reno Mini Main Event Begins at Noon
The one and only Run It Up Reno poker festival kicked off the ninth chapter of the series Friday, as the first of two opening day flights of the $440 Mini Main Event played out. The second of the two Day 1 flights begins today, as Day 1b commences from the Peppermill Resort in Reno, Nevada, today at noon.
This $100,000 guaranteed tournament is already more than halfway toward hitting that guarantee, as 145 total entries came through for Day 1a. That number is expected to be well exceeded for today's Day 1b flight, as Run It Up Reno IX continues.
Players will start with 25,000 chips, with the blinds and antes at 100/100/100. Day 1b will play on until 16 percent of the field remains, with late registration available through the end of the dinner break in this unlimited entry event. Here's a look at the structure for Day 1b:

Day 1a saw the opening field of 145 entries trimmed down to 24 by the end of the night, with all of those 24 players guaranteed to make it into the money. Day 1b will use the same format, as all players bagging at the end of the flight are guaranteed at least a min cash.
The dinner break takes place after Level 11, after which the levels go from 30 minutes for 40 minutes. Even with the longer levels later in the night, the action was fast and furious on Day 1a, with the end of play coming during Levels 15.
Run It Up founder Jason Somerville, along with RIU ambassadors Ricky Guan and Arlie Shaban, were just some of the players in attendance on a festive Day 1a. Day 1b might be an even more action-packed, wild day, as the attendance numbers are expected to make the Mini Main Event go well over the $100,000 guarantee.
