While PokerNews will be live reporting a half dozen tournaments from the Run It Up Reno IX, there are other side events playing out during the 11-day festival.

One of them was Event #5: $125 6-Max T.O.E. (2-7 Triple Draw, Omaha 8, Stud 8), which nearly doubled its $5,000 GTD by attracting 103 entries. That resulted in a $9,991 prize pool that was paid out to the top 16 players.

Among those to cash but fall short of making the final table were Andy Pokrivnak (11th - $250), Chris Brandy (13th - $200), and Andrew Montgomery (16th - $200), just to name a few.

In the end, Jon Turner bested Ciprian Tutu in heads-up play to win the title and $2,400 first-place prize.
