Run It Up Reno
Run It Up Reno

One of the marquee events here at Run It Up Reno IX is set to begin at 10 a.m. local time, as the $175 Moneymaker Tour Event will kick off, and a PokerStars Platinum Pass is added to the prize pool for the eventual winner of the tournament. The Platinum Pass is good for entry into the €22,500 buy-in ($25,000) PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC), this time set for Aug. 20-24, 2020, in Barcelona, along with $5,000 for expenses.

Players will begin with 10,000 in tournament chips, and registration and unlimited re-entry is available for the first nine levels, or until approximately 1:10 p.m. local time. There will be a fifteen-minute break every two hours, with a sixty-minute dinner break after Level 22. Levels are 20 minutes in length from Level 1-18, then extend to 30 minutes in length for the remainder of the tournament. Once play becomes heads-up, levels will reduce down to ten minutes in length. Approximately 16% of the field will cash.

The namesake of the tour itself, Chris Moneymaker, will be in attendance today, and a host of other players are expected to take their chance at taking home a platinum pass, including Survivor alums Shirin Oskooi, Tyson Apostol and Ronnie Bardah, who also will be a part of the popular Survivor Watch Party and Survivor Cash Game Hangout later in the day.

Who will walk away from the Peppermill Reno with a Platinum Pass? PokerNews will be here from the first card off the deck until the last card on the river, so stay tuned right here for all the action, and don't forget to tune in to the Run It Up Twitch stream, which goes live at 7 p.m. local time.
