Tepen Coolers Black

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Julian Black
Julian Black

Ryan Tepen opened under the gun to 26,000, and Julian Black was the lone caller. Tepen bet 30,000 on the {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop, and Black called. Tepen checked the {7-Diamonds} turn, and Black shoved all in for 137,000 after a couple of minutes of thought. Tepen snapped and turned over {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a boat.

"Oh my God," Black exclaimed, showing {a-}{k-}.

He still had outs but a river {4-Spades} was a blank.

Tepen Doubles Through Bybee; Karn Eliminated

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In a hand that stretched from the previous level, RunGood Pros Ryan Tepen and Ross Bybee saw a {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Spades} flop with Bybee acting out of the small blind. He checked, and Tepen checked back. Bybee bet 20,000 on the {6-Spades} turn, and Tepen called. Bybee bet 67,000 on the {q-Clubs} river, and Tepen thought about two minutes and announced all in.

Bybee asked for a count, and it was 159,000 more. He tanked about six or seven minutes and put in calling chips.

Tepen showed {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a full house on the end.

"Nice catch," Bybee said.

At the other table, Terry Karn went bust.

Aces Versus Kings

Michael Niccum

Julian Black opened for 19,000, and Michael Niccum made it 45,000 on the button. Black wasted little time putting his remaining 100,000 or so in, and Niccum snapped it off for a bit less.

NIccum: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Black: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Black clapped in elation as the dealer spread a {k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop.

"Hold one time," he yelled, pointing at his third king.

The dealer obliged with the {7-Spades} and {5-Clubs}.

"That's how you win a poker tournament," Black yelled.
