Day 2 Completed
The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) Showbound $575 Main Event hosted by Downstream Casino Resort attracted 372 entrants over three Day 1 flights, a baker's dozen shy of the venue record. The total prize pool for the event came to $186,000, well above its $100,000 guarantee.
On Sunday, Kyle Kinder emerged victorious to capture a $42,781, his first documented tournament cash according to HendonMob. In addition, Kinder and the entire final table were extended invitations into the season-ending freeroll satellite at Hard Rock Tulsa for a pair of $5,000 Sit & Go seats to be on Poker After Dark, recorded in the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

Others to cash the Main Event were Kurt Haiss (13th - $2,399), James Traber (17th - $1,804), start-of-the-day chip leader Craig Dick (23rd - $1,488), Mike Marne (34th - $1,209), RGPS Council Bluffs champ Nick Burris (36th - $1,209), and Bill Sanders (44th - $1,023).
Norm Glueckert was the first to fall after shoving with king-five suited and failing to get there against Nick Petree’s pocket jacks, and Clyde Lorance followed him out the door in ninth losing ace-queen to Matt Blackwell’s pocket queens.
Blackwell then hit the rail himself getting it in with pocket nines and losing a flip to Petree, who flopped an ace holding ace-queen. That proved to be a popular hand as Lance Hendricks used it to send William McCracken, who held king-nine in his final hand, out the door in seventh place for $5,952.
Papa Karn, the father of RGPS founder Tana Karn, took his leave after getting his short stack in with nines against Shane Fuller’s Big Slick, and Li Wu busted when his ten-eight suited fell to Fuller’s nine-seven.
It was at that point Kinder got his first final table knockout when Hendricks jammed with king-nine only to run it smack dab into the eventual champ’s ace-king. Kinder then used Big Slick to eliminated Petree, who had ace-eight, in third place for $17,577 before setting up a final two match against Fuller, which would last just six hands.
The former held a 2:1 chip lead, and it came to a head when Fuller three-bet jammed holding ace-queen and Kinder opted to call with king-four suited. One club on the flop and two more on the turn and river gave Kinder a flush, and Fuller was eliminated in second place for $26,412.
The next RGPS stop will take place March 5-10 at Horseshoe Tunica, and once again the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to capture all the action.

Heads-up play between Kyle Kinder and 2nd-place finisher Shane Fuller lasted just half a dozen hands. Kinder held a 2:1 chip lead when two-handed play began. Six hands later, it was all over.
In the final hand of the tournament, Kinder raised to 150,000 and Fuller shoved for 1,775,000. Kinder asked for a count and then counted down his own stack before tossing in a single 5K chip to indicate a call.

Fuller stood up from his seat as the flop was dealt . The safe flop for the big ace was no doubt a welcome sight to Fuller, but the on the turn opened up both straight and flush outs for Kinder. Lightning struck for Kinder on the river when the hit the felt, completing Kinder's flush and delivering the Showbound Main Event's top prize.
For his 2nd-place finish, Fuller will take home $26,412 from the prize pool.
Both Kinder and Fuller also receive an invitation to play in the Poker After Dark freeroll, to take place at the Tulsa Hard Rock, the final stop of the Showbound season.
Nic Petree raised to 120,000 and Kyle Kinder three-bet on the button to 410,000. Petree went into the tank for almost a full minute before announcing himself all in. Kinder snap-called, asking, "Ace-King?"
"That's good," Petree answered.

"Better get an eight up there," Petree muttered.
The board ran out , and Kinder's king kicker was good for the 3,000,000-chip pot.
Petree exits the tournament in 3rd place and will take home $17,577 plus a seat in the Poker After Dark freeroll at the end of the season.

Three-handed play over the last hour has consisted mainly of small ball poker. Effective, but only over the long-haul. The chip lead has shifted from Shane Fuller to Kyle Kinder, with Nic Petree riding a stack that fluctuates the most from hand-to-hand. The chip counts will continue to be updated, whether or not we witness stories worthy to post.

The action folded to Lance Hendricks on the button and he moved his short stack into the middle. Kyle Kinder reshoved from the small blind and Shane Fuller surrendered the big blind.

The flop came , and ever the optimist, Hendricks said, "I've got the clubs covered." The the point was moot as the board ran out to send the pot over to Kinder.
Hendricks exits the Showbound Main Event in 4th place and will collect $12,183 from the prize pool, along with an invitation to participate in the end-of-season Poker After Dark freeroll.
Li Wu went from an average stack to a short stack a few orbits back when he open-shoved over a million chips and Shane Fuller called it off. Wu held against Fuller's and the latter took down the biggest pot of the day when the board ran out .
Wu was left with just 375,000 chips following that hand, but managed to maintain both his chip stack and his composure before the penultimate hand arrived.
Fuller opened the pot for 75,000 and Wu shoved for 350,000 from the small blind. Fuller called and the hands were revealed.

Fuller -
Both players had live cards, though Wu had the diamonds covered. The flop came , keeping Wu's cards live as kickers to avoid chop outs. The on the turn changed nothing, but the river came the , pairing Fuller and sending Wu to the exit.
Wu earned $9,207 for his 4th-place finish and a seat in the Poker After Dark freeroll.
Papa Karn open-shoved for his last 415,000 and chip leader Shane Fuller called out of the blinds to put the unofficial RunGood mascot at risk.
Karn -
Fuller -
Karn nursed a short stack into Day 2 and all the way to the final table, where he once held over a million chips. Karn must win this race to stay alive, but the deck fails to cooperate when the flop comes . With no backdoor draws to hope for, Karn needs a nine to come from behind. Neither the turn or the river are what Karn needs and he hits the rail in 6th place.
For his performance in the Showbound Main Event, Karn earns $7,161 and an invitation to play for a seat on Poker After Dark in the end-of-season freeroll.
