Poe Staying Alive
A player in middle position opened to 800 and was called by the hijack, player on the button, small blind, and Robert Poe in the big blind. The five went to a flop of and action checked to the hijack, who bet 2,200. The player on the button called and the small blind folded to put action onto Poe, who also called.
The original raiser then folded to take action three ways to the turn . Poe, first to act, shoved all in for 3,200. The hijack called and the player on the button then announced he was all in, getting a fold from the hijack to give Poe a chance at tripling up against one opponent.
"I flopped it," said the player on the button, tabling .
"Unless you turned a better one," he added, seeing Poe show .
Poe needed to fade the three remaining queens in the deck to avoid a chop and score the triple, and he would do just that as the river fell to earn him the pot.
