Michael Volk Eliminated in 6th Place ($19,155)

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Michael Volk
Michael Volk

After Nicholas Lanzi raised to 250,000 in the hijack, Michael Volk moved in from the cutoff for 675,000.

Action folded back to Lanzi who called.

Michael Volk: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Nicholas Lanzi: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The flop came {2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}, bringing no help to Lanzi. The {9-Diamonds} turn gave him some additional outs to a gutshot straight.

That straight dramatically came in on the river with the {10-Spades}, as Lanzi eliminated Volk to bring the field down to five.

Lanzi Doubles Through Volk

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Nicholas Lanzi
Nicholas Lanzi

Nicholas Lanzi moved all in under the gun for about 1,400,000 and got called by Michael Volk in the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and Lanzi was at risk.

Nicholas Lanzi: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Michael Volk: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop was safe for Volk, as was the {k-Hearts}, but on the river, the dealer dropped the {q-Clubs} for Lanzi to snatch the pot from Volk and keep the tournament six-handed.

Big Stacks Battle Preflop

Level 28 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

After Anthony Carbone raised to 250,000 under the gun, Donald Mullen three-bet to 565,000 in the small blind.

Derek Bowers now went into the tank for a couple of minutes before moving all in for over four million.

Carbone quickly folded and after a bit of deliberation, Mullen did as well to send over a million chips to Bowers without seeing a flop.
