Jacobs Eliminates Player to Burst Money Bubble

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Opponent: {j-}{j-}
Bart Jacobs: {a-}{a-}

The opponent was in bad shape as he was up against aces and his fate as the final player out before the money was sealed when the board ran out {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

There was a faint applause throughout the tournament area as the remaining 63 players learned they were in the money.

Smith Takes Out Grant

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Chad Utke told PokerNews about a big hand that took place at the table before the blinds went up.

Christopher Smith opened to 8,500 from middle position and two players called, including Hush Grant in the hijack.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Smith continued with a bet of 16,000. Both opponents called.

Smith then checked on the {a-Clubs} turn and Grant bet 20,000. The other player in the hand called and Smith then check-raised to 90,000. Grant tanked for about four minutes and then moved all-in. Only Smith called.

Hush Grant: {a-}{j-}
Christopher Smith: {a-}{k-}

Grant had trips but was drawing dead against the full house of Smith. Grant was eliminated as the inconsequential river card came and Smith picked up a massive pot, bringing his stack to around 464,000

Huy Nguy?n was seen getting to the river on a board of {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{5-} out of position in a heads-up pot against Noel Eicher.

Nguy?n bet 15,000 on the river and Eicher announced he was all-in with Nguy?n covered. Nguy?n called with what was left of his stack.

Eicher showed {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the nut flush and Nguy?n shook his head and showed {j-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a straight that was no good.

Nguy?n, who took down the $185 DeepStack Event for $45,385, entered the day as a big stack with 230,000 chips but couldn't keep the hot streak going on Day 2.
