Kalb Flops the Nuts
Level 7
: Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Short-stacked Nate Kalb moved all in preflop and was called by Harry Korotki who barely covered him.
Nate Kalb:J?9?
Harry Korotki: K?Q?
Although Korotki was in the lead with his superior king-high, the flop of 8?Q?10? gave Kalb a big lead as he flopped the nut straight.
Korotki would have to get a king, queen, jack, or nine on the turn to stay alive, but it came the 6? and he was left drawing dead as the river fell the 2?.
Kalb was then awarded the pot for a full double to a little over 21,000 while Korotki was left with a single 500-chip.
He then managed to win a few pots and survived the next round of blinds and is now at 4,000.
