The action was hot-n-heavy throughout the day as the fast-paced structure encouraged action early on, with multiple all-ins seen in as early as Level 2. As was expected, todays flights featured mostly the local players, with many notables expected to arrive tomorrow to fire in this weekends flights.
There was one notable name who got in early enough to fire his shot today in the form of Jeff Platt, but unfortunately will have to try again tomorrow as he fell late in Day 1b. Falling close after him was Bay Area local Dan Stavila, who has been on a bit of a hot streak in the past few months and will definitely be looking to extend it as he fires again over the weekend. Yousef Salameh, a final tableist in this event last year, also found the rail today but will be sure to emerge again over the next few opening flights.
Some recognizable names who did bag include RGPS ring winner Brett Murray (147,000), Travis Fujisaka (254,000), and Andrew Nguyen (259,000).
Tomorrow will feature the same structure with flight Day 1c firing off at 10 a.m. and 1d following at 3 p.m. local time.
