After 128 entrants came out to play the first two flights of the RGPS $600 Main Event at Atlantis Casino in Reno, Nevada, just 17 survivors have made it to Day 2. Today, time will tell as far as how many entrants will be trying to secure a piece of the $150,000 prize pool, but regardless of the number it is sure to be an exciting day of swings.

Greg Paradero took home the biggest stack yesterday as he sat with 505,000, a significant lead over the rest of the field. Rounding out that top three are Thomas Tran (395,000) and last season’s runner-up Andrew Fredericks (387,000). Each one of them is looking to write their name high on Sunday’s payout list.

The exciting NAPT golden player of the series race is still in full swing, but as far as the Main Event goes, just two of the players in the top ten have found bags. Matthew Betti (318,000) sits in fourth place with 92 points, but has at least secured another couple of points to potentially close the gap between him and his competitors. Derek Stark (65,000) sits in ninth place with 69 points and will be looking to make another final table this series.

Lots of players are expected to make appearances today, including Julie Cornelius, Jamie Kerstetter, Corey Paggeot, Joey Gargiulo, Jeffrey Day, and Conrad Simpson to name just a few. They will be looking to secure themselves a seat at the Thunder Valley Dream Seat Invitational and taking home one of the shiny gold rings.

Players will begin the tournament with 30,000 in chips with blinds beginning at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Levels will last 30 minutes each with a 15-minute break at the conclusion of every four levels. Registration will remain open until the beginning of level 9, after which the players will play until just 12.5% rounded up remain. Those players will bag up and return to play on Sunday at 12:00 pm where the levels will be upped to 40 minutes each. Those who do not find bags will be able to fire as many bullets as they want to on the following flights. Stay tuned to PokerNews for all of the updates on the Main Event.
