Jackson Turrentine Bags Day 1a Chip Lead in RGPS Tulsa Main Event
The first of three Day 1 flights in the RunGood Poker Series main event here at Hard Rock Tulsa, Oklahoma has come to a close with $79,560 of the event's $100,000 guaranteed prize-pool already accounted for and two flights still left to play. The day saw non-stop action from onset to end with 153 total entries sitting down in an attempt to find a bag for Day 2. Of those 153 entries, 20 players will return to join the players that end up bagging the two remaining Day 1 flights, both of which will take place tomorrow.
Ending the day with the chip lead for this flight was Jackson Turrentine, who will unbag 554,000 chips when the three Day 1 fields converge on Sunday to play down to a champion. Also taking a seat in the first Day 1 flight but failing to find a bag was defending champion Pete Petree and Brian Frenzel, who earlier in the day extended his all-time RGPS ring lead to seven by taking down two rings back-to-back, one in the Flip And Go event before max late regging the PLO event after taking his winner's photos and taking that down as well, all within 5 hours.
Play ended with 14:09 left on the clock in level 15 with blinds at 4,000/8,000 and a 8,000 big blind ante. The 20 players to bag will join the surviving players of the two remaining Day 1 flights on Sunday, October 15 at 12 p.m. with these levels in mind unless one of the remaining two flights ends prior to that time.
