Tommy Smith (319,500) leads a field of 62 remaining players in the RunGood Poker Series Downstream $575 Main Event. The field has been whittled down from 332 players over three starting flights. The winner of the tournament will win $38,179 and the Signature Championship ring.
Before that, they must work their way through the field of remaining players. Some of them you may recognize from other RGPS stops like Jacob Seale, who has two second-place finishes in RGPS Main Events and has cashed at all the stops on the tour outside of Downstream and Oklahoma City, which was only recently added to the schedule. Seale enters the day with 96,500.
In order for Seale to add the Downstream Main to the list of events he's cashed in, he must make it to the final 36 players. Today's min-cash is worth $1,245.
Phillip Teel enters the day as another one of the big stacks. Teel bagged 269,000 in Day 1b. Devin Arnone (284,000), Patrick Brown (250,000), and Justin Gardenhire (209,000) make up the rest of the top-five chip stacks entering the day.
The action resumes Sunday at noon and PokerNews.com will bring you all the photos and updates throughout the day as the RGPS crowns its newest champion here at the Downstream Casino.
