The Fall of the Notables

The final day started with rapid eliminations as the 82 finalists of Day 2 were already in the money and were trying to establish their positions for a deep run in the event. Among those that busted early were Dietrich "2pacnrw16" Fast, Henri "buehlero" Buehler, Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker, Stefan "CrAzY_sTeFaN" Piele Dragos, and Andras "probirs" Nemeth.

Pascal "Pass_72" Lefrancois, Scott "Aggro Santos" Margereson and Julian "HealTheWorld" Thomas managed to last longer but they busted too, before the last two tables. When there were 16 players left, it was Gleb "Ti0373" Tremzin who had the chip lead and also it was when Vieira started his attack to the top spot of the counts. On the road to achieve it, he eliminated "TTWIST" who was Day 1's chipleader, and the elimination of "heatbr" in 10th place by "normannolly" was the one that sent the remaining players to the official final table.

Final Table Action

The three players that finished in the top three places of the event were the ones that had the top three spots of the counts when the final table started. Tremzin had the lead, while Vieira and "Kurtkaare" were very close in second and third place, respectively.

The action was fast in the beginning as there were two eliminations in the first five hands of the final table. Firstly, it was "1EP3" who fell from the hands of Vieira and then "S.N.I.N.1" followed him, after busting to Tremzin.

Tremzin was dominating at this point and it looked like he will cruise to the first place of the event. There was a hand that changed everything in favor of Vieira, and it was when Tremzin shoved with a 51-million stack from the button, while Vieira was in the small blind with less than 16 million chips. At that point, two players had a little bit more than twenty million chips and the rest had less than ten million stacks. Vieira tanked for a long time but finally called with a pair of sevens to hold and double up against Tremzin's ten-seven off.

Tremzin also lost the very next hand, where he doubled David "MissOracle" Yan and suddenly he was found in the bottom places of the seven-handed play.

"Kurtkaare" eliminated "disquesi!" and "JoeGall", while Vieira took care of Yan, "normannolly" and eventually Tremzin in third place, to send the tournament to the heads-up.

The final duel didn't last for long since Vieira had a commanding 4-to-1 chip lead, which became 5-to-1 before he won with king-nine versus queen-eight in a preflop all in in the last hand.

PokerNews coverage for SCOOP-33-M is over with this recap, but stay tuned since there are a lot more events to come until the end of the series.
