SCOOP 96-M Final 16

After more than eight hours on Day 2 of the PokerStars 2020 SCOOP 96-M: $530 Main Event 2nd Chance, 16 players have made it through to the final day to battle it out for the lion-share of the $2,449,500 prize pool. The tournament attracted 3,325 unique players who reentered 1,574 times to get to a total of 4,899 entries of which 640 returned today.

Claiming the Day 2 chip lead is "thx4urm0n3y" with 75,277,047 in chips. They were also responsible for brig the day to an end when they busted "bacooo" in seventeenth place when they raise-called the three-bet shove with pocket nines. "bacooo" held ace-seven and couldn't connect to anything on the trey-queen-trey-four-queen board. "thx4urm0n3y" has won the Sunday Million twice back in 2017 so has some experience with overcoming deep-stacked final tables and will be looking forward to try and do it again in this event.

Fabio "LFFF22" Freitas follows them in the counts with 52,578,636 chips. Some of those chips used to belong to Thomas "tomnelz1" Nelz and "ReeceCole888" as they were some of the players who were eliminated by "LFFF22". Third in the chip counts is Bradley "mrbradleyy" Harwood with 48,305,650 with "serrazina11" (45,067,065) and "benderbei2" (41,692,601[/b] as the only other two players to come back for the final day with an above average stack. Other familiar names still left in the field include Luuk "pokerkluka" Gieles and Leo "LeoFernandez" Fernandez.

Race to the Bubble

Pablo "pabritz" Brito started the day second in the counts but immediately lost some chips when he doubled "DeLABijen" up while holding aces. "DeLaBijen" had flopped a flush draw when all the chips when in and got there on the turn. As 640 players returned for Day 2, the bubble came up quite quickly as 607 places were going to get paid.

When there were 608 players left, six players busted during the first round of hand-for-hand play. "3 bucati" was the unlucky one with the shortest stack who got their chips in with pocket tens when "frimataube" shoved on them with king-jack. The jack on the flop meant the bubble had burst. At the same time, Peter "twirlpro" Turmezy had busted to Jorge "UruRey" Ramella and Preben "prebz" Stokkan fell to "bigfishka44".

Hannes "SuchADegen" Speiser three-bet-called for his tournament life when Alejandro "Nextlevelftp" Lococo four-bet to put him all-in. Speiser's ace-queen were up against the rockets of Lococo and got no help from the board. Ivan "Negriin" Luca came into the day third in the counts but saw his last few chips go to "mmetsla" when he held ace-jack and ran them into ace-ten. Sven "SvenCalls" McDermott busted to Fernandez with the overpair against two pair.

From 100 Players to the Final Two Tables

By the time the fourth break of the day rolled around, the field had already been decimated to 107 players. "Fdeeeeb" took over the chip lead shortly after when they eliminated Andreas "mrAndreeew" Berggren with aces against ace-king but then "serrazina11" came and took away most of their chips. /David "deivid29" Tovar was eliminated by Gieles and then there only 40 players left two hours later.

The proceedings then started to slow down as everyone had their sights set on making Day 3. Gieles doubled up through "serrazina11" before "thx4urm0n3y" busted Lococo. "LFFF22" then took out "ReeceCole888" with "ale kmkz" following them next to get the field down to 28. Michael "blazinchron" Bailey busted with king-jack against the sevens of "Carboneraa". "Carbutron0" took out Audrius "Stakelis24" Stakelis and Maksim "MAMOHT_T" Viktorovich in two seperate hands.
